Abilities

Assumed to be a capable fighter pilot, George was one of the first to fly an aircraft during World War I. It's hinted that he may have had a talent for the Ripple much like his father and son, though he was never given any training to properly use it.[4]

Beyond

Beyond

The information below derives from a source not written by Araki. As such, it may or may not be considered canonW.

In the light novel, Jorge meets a strange boy named Tsukumojuku, later on discovering that he can travel throughout other universes with an ability he names Beyond. After Tsukumojuku's death, his Beyond is split between three people: George, Joji, and Dio Brando. George shares his Beyond with Joji from the 37th universe. With him believing in Beyond, his role is being the story's main character and must act with audacity and courage.

Beyond grants him and any other user self-awareness, through which he realizes that he is merely a character in someone else's story. And by believing in his Beyond, this unique ability will provide any convenient means needed, permitting George to perform whatever is in his best interest and benefit, as long as he believes in this power; essentially controlling fate. It currently stands as one of the most powerful abilities in the JoJo series, despite not being canon.

History

Background

George Joestar II was born in 1889, just months after his father was killed by Dio Brando. His mother, Erina, was pregnant at the time of Dio's assault and raised George primarily by herself. He grew up to marry the child who was saved by Erina at the time. Together, they had a son named Joseph Joestar.

George became a pilot for the British Air ForceW during World War IW. During his service, he discovered that one of his superior officers was a zombie that had been created by Dio and had been living secretly in darkness for years. George went to confront him, but unfortunately, was not trained properly in the art of Ripple and died in the battle. His death was covered up as a flying accident. Lisa Lisa mourned his death, causing her to leave the house and kill the zombie officer with Ripple.

JORGE JOESTAR

George's birthname in this novel is spelled as "Jorge"

The novel begins when Jorge was only just 11 years old. He lives in La Palma with his mother and Lisa Lisa. He is constantly bullied by a boy named Antonio Torres and his gang, with Lisa Lisa always having to save him. The next day, he decides to go to school early to avoid him, later learning that Antonio was murdered. He and Lisa Lisa are blamed because they had left school early by one of his friends Julio Gonzalez. It is revealed that Antonio was seemingly crushed to death and had only left a sheet of skin with no muscles or blood. Suddenly, a boy by the name of Tsukumojuku Kato enters the room, claiming he has solved the murder. He brings out a sheet of Antonio's skin and reveals it to the class. He reveals that the sheet was created by his mother, Maria Torres, who had been removing his skin piece by piece ever since he was a baby.[5]

Lisa Lisa leaves for Italy with her father, and Jorge and Tsukumojuku quickly become great friends. Four years pass, and they had been solving cases together during that time. When Tsukumojuku turns fifteen, he tells Jorge that he must leave to go back to Japan, making Jorge feel lonely again. Jorge states that one day he will come to Japan so they can solve more mysteries together. Tsukumojuku hands him a Japanese dictionary, doubting it will happen.

Three days pass, and Jorge learns that the boat Tsukumojuku was supposed to leave in had disappeared. After praying for 2 months, Jorge learns that the boat sunk to the bottom of the sea. Filled with misery, George curses God for taking the life of his only and best friend.[6]

    Trivia

    • Despite being deceased in the actual series of JoJo, the non-canon light novel reveals that George had actually been sent to another universe just moments away from being murdered by the Officer Zombie, avoiding death.[7]
    • His birth name is spelled 'Jorge' instead of 'George' in the novel because it was written in Spanish style. He asked his mother why she didn't spell it the proper English way, she says she wanted to be able to call him 'JoJo' like his father. But because they lived in La Palma with everyone being Spaniards, everyone pronounced his name as "Horhe". Though, Lisa Lisa and Erina pronounced his name as "George".[5]
