Duel Pone Zec Avenger is the Ancient Demons' hero who went berserk during the Ancient Demon Wars upon the death of his lover, Edna Vervidad.
Background
Sometime before the founding of Kounat, the League of Demons initiated a surprise attack on the Ancient Demons. Duel created one of the three legendary Demon weapons, Eclipse, and used it in the Demon Wars, killing the demons that stood in his path. He annihilated everyone regardless of whether they were allies or enemies, and because of that the Ancient War was practically terminated. A wizard, Oz, created Grandark to counter Eclipse.
Though he initially went berserk in the past, Duel also saved Mari from the explosion that annihilated Kounat for his own purposes. He later seemingly became devoted to protecting Mari, but his true motives in the present remain vastly unknown.
Story
Duel was first mentioned in Zero's character profile. More information about him was published in KOG Studios' official Naver blog.
Thunder Hammer
In Thunder Hammer, the mysterious demon suddenly emerged and stole the Deity Orbs from the Grand Chase. Zero then attempted to attack Duel, who recognized Zero as "one of their kind" and left. Grandark stopped his master, warning him that Duel had become too powerful to defeat due to his Transcendence and alliance with a new demonic tribe.
End of the World Eclipse

As an ominous eclipse had started to occur in the skies of Aernas, the Evil Priest encouraged Duel to achieve his goals, assuring the demon he would get what he wanted from their master who, it claimed, possesses god-like powers and only needed to be released. Although outwardly agreeing, Duel thought of aiding the Grand Chase himself against the dark forces if their plans ended up interfering with his own.
Kounat's Collapse
Duel arrived following Ashtaroth's defeat and prevented him from controlling Mari, who had been teleported by the Aernas Hammer. Later, he seized the Klara Libri and eased Mari's suffering by erasing her memories of it.
Before departing, Duel told Sieghart that he would kill him first if anything happened to Mari while under the Highlander's watch. The demon also informed Dio that their battle would be postponed for later. Lastly, Duel warned the Grand Chase that their story did not end with the war and was merely the beginning of another.
Attacks
Duel attacks by firing piercing blue orbs and a homing black orb. Note that the homing orb cannot be destroyed by simply hitting it and must be outrun. He is capable of teleportation, yet he must open a black hole to do so.
It should be noted that Duel cannot be defeated (all damage does 1 on him), and will only leave once players have hit him enough.
