Oasis

Oasis (オアシス Oashisu) is a rebel army[1] that was formed to free the Aoi Cosmos from Poseidon Nero's tyranny.[1]

After the defeat of the Nero Empire and liberation of the Aoi Cosmos, thanks to the seperate alliances with Edens Zero crew and the Interstellar Union Army, despite a little interference from Edens One crew led by Ziggy, the Oasis becomes an official civilian military organization.[2]

Overview

Oasis is comprised of humans, bots, and aliens in its organization. According to Homura, they are strong especially their leader Goodwin who possesses tremendous Ether power.[3]

Laguna states that the people of Sandra, whose freedom has been taken away from them by the Nero Empire, will never bow to Poseidon Nero as long as Oasis is here.[4] However, he doubts that Oasis would be able to take down the Emperor and believes them to be all idealistic talk and no action.[5]

The rebel army possesses the Maine Coon, the flagship of Goodwin, and a small squad of space fighters in their arsenal.[6][7]

History

Sandra arc

Oasis is visited by Laguna, bringing the Crew of Edens with intent to gather allies to stop the Nero Empire from wiping out all bots from the Aoi Cosmos. They point their guns at the group, particularly Laguna whom they call a coward to be shot on sight if he returned. However, Shiki easily disarms them of their weapons with his Ether Gear, which gets the attention and interest of Goodwin.[8]

The members of Oasis are stunned to learn that Goodwin reveals himself to be a huge fan of the Aoneko Channel and fawns over Rebecca and Happy upon recognizing them. They are confused and wonder what is going on especially when they learn that their leader is Oa_NEKO who always donates money to Rebecca's Financial Support Chat and praises her to be the best B-Cuber ever. Ibaraki is upset and calls out on Goodwin for misappropriating the organization's funds just to give handouts to Rebecca. Even though Goodwin bluntly protests that he uses his own money, Ibaraki points out that Laguna is with Rebecca and her friends.[9] The Oasis members are exasperated when Goodwin quickly changes his tune and enthusiastically declares that he will do anything for Rebecca after she implores him to hear what the Crew of Edens have to say. They smile or stand in stoic silence when Homura points out that they and their leader are strong.[3]

They watch the Aoi News report about the consequences of Shura's public announcement across the Nero Empire and listen as Goodwin remarks that this is the first time he sympathizes with Nero for watching his regime lose influence because of his son. After their leader explains about the Aoi High Tide, Russo tells Shiki's group about the All-Link System that is one of the Nero Empire's weapons.[10] Suddenly, Zoy barges into the base to inform the others about an enemy attack by the Imperial soldiers who started hunting down the bots in the marketplace. He is soon shot in the arm by the Imperial soldiers who followed him to the Oasis' hideout and begin their assault. Goodwin orders everyone to grab their weapons, and everyone is amazed after witnessing Shiki's group dispatching the Imperial forces with ease.[11]

The Oasis members charge out to confront the Imperial Army where Ibaraki shoots down the sergeant in the head with the people of Sandra cheering them on. They exchange gunfire with the Imperial soldiers,[12] and suffer casualties. Goodwin charges into battle riding a Camelish, demanding them to leave Sandra and declares that this planet chooses freedom, easily sweeping the Imperial troops and armored vehicles away in his path, the rebel leader states that they will fight Nero with the people of Sandra standing alongside him.[13] The rebels continue exchanging gunfire with the Imperial soldiers while suffering casualties.[14] They are confronted by the Imperial Army giant airship before an unimpressed Goodwin grabs it and throws it away with ease. A member of Oasis informs his leader that enemy reinforcements are heading from the west side of the city, which worries his comrades as there is no one there who can fight and it is too far for them to reach it on time. However, the Oasis rebels are shocked and impressed to learn from Hermit that she and her friends already defeated the Imperial forces on the west side.[15]

Oasis captures dozens of Imperial soldiers including a child soldier after the Imperial Army retreats. They guard the cages containing them despite one stating the Nero Empire doesn't bargain for prisoners. Lizarre reports to Goodwin that 16 of their members died, which angers the giant cat. The rebels listen to Goodwin explaining to the captured soldiers that there are no good guys or bad guys in war, just two sides raising a death count while refusing to give in, and why he hates the Nero Empire.[16]

Nero 66 arc

Within the bridge of the Maine Coon, the Oasis members are in the background as Ibaraki tells Laguna that they are doing good and informs him about Ijuna's death by Shura's hand, vowing to avenge her.[17] During the meeting for the upcoming battle, Goodwin tells Witch that Oasis will act as a diversion for Edens Zero to sneak past the battle between the forces of the Nero Empire and the Interstellar Union Army into Nero 66 while they keep their enemies busy.[18] Upon confronting the Imperial Army ships, the rebels launch their starfighters from the Maine Coon and destroyed their enemies with ease, impressing Hermit and annoys Sister that Ibaraki's ship is making a lot of noise.[7]

During the battle with the Imperial Army nearby Nero 66, Oasis is spotted by the Interstellar Union Army as the rebels express worry of being fired upon and advise Goodwin to talk to them.[19] The Oasis members keep shooting down Imperial ships with ease while bantering with each other. On the other hand, the rebels within the Maine Coon's bridge listen to the meeting between Goodwin and Eraser of the Oración Seis Interstellar via holographic screen transmission where the two agreed to work together to protect the Aoi Cosmos and stop the All-Link System.[20] Despite running low on ammo, the rebels in their starfighters continue to shoot down more Imperial ships in their path. However, the members of Oasis and Goodwin are shocked to see 10,000 more ships of the Nero Empire appearing nearby Nero 66. Suddenly, a rebel informs the giant cat that an unidentified starfighter is approaching at 6 o'clock and his comrades remark that its readings are off the charts and they have never seen a ship this fast. Goodwin wonders if it is a new enemy model only for Eraser to inform him that it is an ally and advises him to not shoot Justice. The rebels witness Justice's starfighter easily taking out dozens of Imperial ships with Grand Chariot, shocking them of its multiple omni-directional lasers' incredible penetrating power. The members of Oasis express relief after seeing reinforcements from Justice's fleet coming to aid them and Eraser's forces.[21]

As the battle in space continues, Oasis learns that the Interstellar Union Army sent a detached force to The Temple and storm its capital planet, which they are pleased that it is possible to beat the Nero Empire.[22] However, Lizarre and Furena are killed by the Sea Serpent's massive energy beam attack much to the grief of the rebels and Goodwin.[23]
