The Drop Tank is a structure that allows iridium to flow in one direction. It accepts iridium through its top pipe, filling its bottom tank. Iridium in the bottom tank is unable to flow back through its top pipe, making a one-way system.
The Drop Tank consists of a 'Top Tank' and a 'Bottom Tank'. The one difference between these tanks is that iridium in the 'Top Tank' can flow back into the input pipe. Iridium in the 'Bottom Tank' can only flow into the output pipe. The two tanks are a single structure: destroying one will also destroy the other. Both tanks store 75 iridium.
The Drop Tank has arrows so players can easily tell which side is the input and which side is the output.
Drop tanks are generally not used, with players preferring Distributor Caps.
Usage
Drop tanks are generally used to prioritize iridium in specific parts of your base, or hijack enemy pipelines by bringing iridium from their base to yours.
Trivia
- Before updates, many players abused the lag generated by drop tank Blueprints caused by the high amount of parts in the drop tank. Using an auto clicker, players could slow and even crash the game by spamming these blueprints. Drop tank spamming has been patched away in late 2022.
