DaksDominoes are a domino artist duo from Season 19 of America's Got Talent. They were eliminated in the Deliberations.
Background
Derek Koops and Alex Koops are Professional Domino Artists from Sioux Center, Iowa. They post videos online and have amassed a large following on YouTube and TikTok. They view The Kinetic King as their inspiration after seeing him on AGT. Derek and Alex have been building dominoes since 2011.
In 2022, Derek and Alex teamed up with Lyle Broughton to make up the trio Dominerds who won FOX’s hit show: Domino Masters with a perfect track record of winning every episode in which they appeared.
Alex and Derek have worked with Sprice on many domino and Rube Goldberg Machine projects in the past, including 2 Guinness World Record builds.
In 2022, they broke the world record for the longest domino wall, containing over 54,000 dominoes and had a length of 169 feet, 7 inches.
In 2024, they broke the world record for the largest 2-dimensional domino pyramid, standing at over 10 feet tall and containing over 8,100 dominoes.
Audition
DaksDominoes’ performance in Episode 1904 consisted of enlisting Howie Mandel to knock over a domino chain that they created within the studio so that a chain reaction would be toppled to Queen’s “Don’t Stop Me Now”.
The brothers spent all night building their creation, using over 10,000 dominoes and including various Rube Goldberg Machine stunts. Moments before the topple, a near disaster occurred when a small cup tower fell over, almost setting off the domino chain early. Thankfully nothing was triggered early, and the DaksDominoes brothers were able to carefully remove the stray cups.
The domino topple lasted about a minute and thirty seconds and worked flawlessly. All 4 judges voted "Yes", sending them to the next round.
Deliberations
DaksDominoes confirmed on their Discord that they didn’t make the live shows.
