The SMAW is a new American Tank hunter team for the Category A Marine deck that will appear in the Magna Carta DLC for Wargame: AirLand Battle. In Wargame: Red Dragon, it was rerolled into a Fire Support Team.
History
Shoulder-Launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon (SMAW) is a shoulder-launched rocket weapon, based on the Israeli B-300, with the primary function of being a portable assault weapon (e.g. bunker buster) and a secondary anti-armor rocket launcher. SMAW entered USMC use in 1984. Shoulder-Launched Multipurpose Assault Weapon serves in the assault weapon section in the rifle company's Weapon Platoon replacing teams carrying FLASH and LAW.
Overview
The SMAW is not an ATGM as it's unit card says it is. Instead it is a very strong RPG type weapon. It has a very high AP and accuracy, more than a match for T-80U's. Their range is a strong 875, and are fantastic for locking down points, especially in buildings. Unfortunately the SMAW teams themselves are quite weak so bring support and try to use cover as much as possible. Essentially, the SMAW is American counterpart of the Tanke Shashou of China.
