Available to NATO forces, the M113 ACAV (Armored Cavalry Assault Vehicle) is an American armoured recon vehicle. In Nation Pack: Israel DLC of Wargame: Red Dragon, M113 ACAV was rerolled into a recon APC.
The M113 ACAV is a uparmored, upgunned recon variant of the M113 armored vehicle. It is armed with one .50 caliber (12.7mm) M2 Browning heavy machine gun and two .30 caliber M60 medium machine guns.
History
M113A1 served in the Cavalry and Scout units of the US army. The Cavalry Platoon of 1975 first had M113 carrying the rifle section. Then in 1977 two M113 each served in the two scout sections. In 1984 the Armored Cavalry Platoon had four MBTs of either M60A1 or M60A3, 2 M901 Improved TOW Vehicles (ITV), and three M113’s. The Scout Platoon of the Armored and Mechanized Infantry Battalion had three M113 and three M901 ITV. These replaced by M3 Bradley.
