Biography
Background
The Japanese, Chinese, Korean and German language versions of the game refer to Tarantox as a king, suggesting that Tarantox is the monarch and leader of its kind or area. The Spanish version refers to Tarantox as a queen, so its gender remains ambiugous.
Super Mario Galaxy
The player counters a planet in Sling Pod Galaxy which is covered in enormous webs. After using a Sling Pod to break the web open, Tarantox is revealed and attacks the player. The player must utilise the nearby Sling Pods to burst enough of Tarantox's visible puss-sacs, causing it to flip. When flipped, it exposes several more growths which must be attacked. Doing so successfully defeats Tarantox.
Trivia
- Tarantox's English name is a portmanteau of "tarantula" and "toxic".
