Ruwon is the main antagonist of the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Visionary".
He was portrayed by Jack Shearer.
Biography Ruwon was a Romulan officer who came to Deep Space 9 with an associate, Karina , seeking intelligence about the Dominion , who he described as the biggest threat to the Alpha Quadrant in a century. Since the Romulans had provided the USS Defiant with a cloaking device for their mission to contact the Founders of the Dominion, Commander Sisko was under instructions to co-operate. Ruwon expressed doubt about Sisko's claim that Odo, the Changeling who was part of Deep Space 9's crew, was not one of the Founders and requested all information Starfleet had on the Dominion, as well as questioning everyone who had been aboard the Defiant during the mission. He made an enemy of Major Kira when subjecting her to tough questioning about the fact Odo had taken her off the Defiant during a Jem'Hadar attack.
However, Ruwon's main aim in coming to the station was to destroy it. He had concluded that the only way to keep Romulus safe from the Dominion was to collapse the wormhole to the Gamma Quadrant, and also that the station crew would never allow it. Thus, he had a cloaked warbird poised to destroy both the station and the wormhole and make it look like an accident. In at least two timelines visited by a time-displaced Chief O'Brien, the attack succeeded.
Having learned of the plan from O'Brien's foresight and identified strange sensor readings as the cloaked warbird, Sisko, Kira and Odo confronted Ruwon and Karina while they were grilling Quark and presented them with their theories about the plan, as well as revealing the station's weapons were currently trained on the warbird. Admitting nothing, Ruwon nevertheless decided it was time to leave and he and Karina were escorted to the transporter room.
