Mr. Lucky

Try to bump into Mr. Lucky. He'll give you a trophy!
~ Mr. Lucky's event description

Mr. Lucky is the deuteragonist the 2012 video game, Rabbids Land. He is the mascot and presumed owner of the titular theme park, and the host of the game's trophy race mode. Despite his mostly friendly demeanor, Mr. Lucky has a bit of a darker side, as once the game is over, he'll shoot at the worst-performing player's Rabbid until they disintegrate, before shooting at them again when they revive.

He was voiced by Marcel Popo, whose voice was also used for all the basic Rabbids.

Biography

As the Host

Throughout the Trophy Race Mode, Mr. Lucky hosts the game as if it were a game show. This also extends to the in game events.

If a player lands on the Quiz space, Mr. Lucky will show up to host the quiz. If the player gets the question right, he'll scream and dance in excitement, but if the player gets the question wrong, he'll frown in disappointment.

If a player lands on a Gift space, Mr. Lucky will personally kick the gift towards the player that landed on it, allowing them to use items such as the Bat and Helping Hand.

If a player lands on an Event space, Mr. Lucky will show up to start up the spinner, which could land on a beneficial event, such as making him show up to give out trophies, or something bad for the player, such as summoning a Thieving Rabbid to steal players trophies, or a bomb that forces the players to play hot potato with each other to avoid getting blown up.

Personal Help

If a player lands on the event space, and the spinner ends up landing on Mr. Lucky's own icon, he'll personally show up in a golden variant of his outfit to hand out a trophy to any player that passes by him.

If a player lands on a gift space, there is a chance that they'll get the Helping Hand item, which, when used, will cause Mr. Lucky to show up behind the user to kick them an extra space forward from their movement through the dice roll.

Minigames

Despite Mr. Lucky's overall kind demeanor, there are a few minigames that indicate a less than legal aspect within his park.

In a few of the minigames, a ride in Rabbids Land will act out during gameplay, forcing one of the players in the minigame to try to fix it or survive it while the other player tries to further sabotage them, such as one of the rides having the riders harnesses get losened in "One Ring to Bucklee Them All". This could either be totally out of Mr. Lucky's control, or due to gross negligence regarding the park's safety on his part, although neither of which is confirmed.

In "The Gift of Taking", it's shown that Mr. Lucky seems to use a security system within the gift shop that shoots disintegrating lasers at intruders, such as the thieving Rabbids attempting to steal lawnmowers. While it is fair for him to keep a security system to avoid having his gift shop get robbed, his method is a bit extreme.

"Ducky Paddle" has the Wii Remote player take control of one of Mr. Lucky's employees as they attempt to shoot whichever duck Rabbid happens to be the one being controlled with the Gamepad with a brush, based on if one of them fails to stop at the blow of a whistle. It's unknown why Mr. Lucky has his employee do this.

End of Game

At the end of the Trophy Race, Mr. Lucky will tally up each player's amount of trophies, before shooting at the Rabbid in fourth-place until they disintegrate, before having them revived to do it again.

Personality

Mr. Lucky is an incredibly affable host who, if the promotional material is to be believed, is so beloved that park-goers are willing to share their own drinks with him. Mr. Lucky is so affable in fact, that he's willing to help the players out, either by showing up to hand them out a trophy himself, or by kicking them an extra space forward after their move. However, his jolliness is only broken upon seeing a player's failure, to the point where he'll shoot at the Rabbid in fourth-place with his ray gun to try to disintegrate them once the game ends, indicating a bottled up sense of wrath.
