The Firemonster is the secondary antagonist and the third boss of Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge.
He was a Knaaren who was mutated and granted the power to master the power of generating fire by the Leptys. With his ability, he polluted the Land of the Livid Dead into a hellish environment by flooding the landscape with lava.
Appearance
For a Knaaren, the Firemonster has a distinct appearance in comparison to the rest of his species. He has tan grey skin with orange molted swells, two digigrated legs. three clawed fingers and toes for each hand and foot, and has orange glowing eyes. At a certain point as he walks towards Rayman, some of his swellings will become gold when he emits flames on his body.
Biography
Past
The Firemonster was a Knaaren who originally resided at the Desert of the Knaaren where he and his people have worshipped their god, the Leptys, and was bestowed into having his power granted to him. At some point after the events of Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc, he relocated himself to the Land of the Livid Dead and begins to use his newfound ability to generate lava that spreads throughout the land. Soon, the land was polluted into a hellish landscape and the Firemonster would remain in his pit to begin his reign of terror. Making sure that his reign would not put to an end, he locked the entrance to his lair using by stealing the runs of the Menhirs and placing them in each separate section.
Rayman: Hoodlums' Revenge
When the Hoodlums return to the land and reestablish their posts, the Firemonster had no intention of fighting them but instead allow them to fortify even at the dangerous rate of the lava overflowing. Rayman and Globox journeyed to the Land of the Livid Dead to stop the Hoodlums and entered the Pit of Endless Fires, the source of the lava pollution caused by the Firemonster. Rayman recognizes the Firemonster to be a dangerous threat and insisted on having their teamwork in defeating him. The Firemonster comes towards the duo to fight them only for Globox to step on a button that lifted a pillar with a Fire Protection can. Using the can, Rayman gains the protection from the lava and uses a charged punch at the Firemonster, giving him damage to half of his health. This step repeats and the Firemonster dissolves into ash, ending his life and his rule of the Land of the Livid Dead.
With the Firemonster deceased, it is presumed that the lava had stopped overflowing and the land has restored to its peaceful state.

- The Firemonster bears a similarity to Reflux in his second Leptys form as they were both mutated Knaaren with elemental abilities
