Curse

Curse ( (のろ) Noroi?) is one of the different species that inhabits the Cursed Lands, and one of the thirteen natural enemies featured in Versus.

Biology

Not much is currently known about Curse's biology. Bastz has demonstrated the ability to inject the Curse into another person using the recovery-type Soul Container, Md-R-13. Once injected, black swirling marks appear on and around the skin near the injection site.[1] Rinri explains that the Soul Container uses the power of curses to utilize life energy.[2]

Overall Strength

Due to its nature, the Curse has the ability to slowly kill all living things by consuming their life force,[3] leaving behind only lifeless bodies and desolate land.[4] There is currently no known cure.[5]

Although much about the Curse remains unknown, it seems capable of combating parasites, inhibiting their growth within hosts.[3] When injected into a person, it may cause pain at the injection site.[6]

History

Background

At some point in the past, the Curse began slowly killing all life in the Cursed Lands by rotting the earth, contaminating the waters, and freezing the planet.[4]

Introduction Arc

Bastz informs the others that the king of Sorcerion is not plagued by a sickness, but by a Curse. He further claims that some of the mages who left the fort to investigate may have brought it back with them.[5]

Demon Lord Arc

To slow the parasite's growth inside Shirokaki, Bastz injects him with the Curse to buy him more time. However, Bastz warns that the parasite will still eventually turn Shirokaki into a monster. He also reveals to the others that he injected the king of Sorcerion with the Curse for the same reason, as the king also had a growing parasite inside him.[1]

Current Arc

Rinri shows Zaybi a Soul Container and steals the soul of a small rodent, transforming the container into a gun. He explains how it works, stating that the container harnesses the power of curses to manipulate life energy.[2]
