OdinWP (オーディン, Ōdin?), the Allfather, is the King of the gods in Scandinavian mythology.

Profile

Background

Odin is a great god as the highest existence in Nordic mythology.[1][2]

He is the father of Brynhildr[1][3] and the other Valkyries,[2] having created them from Sefar's corpse.

According to Norse Mythology, Odin made most of the world from Ymir, with the exception of the runes, which he discovered after offering up his own life. He saw that the shape of the runes contained the depth of the world itself, as such the runes can be called pathways to the truth that Odin discovered.[4]

Odin blessed Hjalmgunnar of the country of the Goths with victory in his battle against Agnar, but Brynhildr supported Agnar who defeated Hjalmgunnar. Upon their victory, he punished Brynhildr for her betrayal by stripping her of many of her divinities, placed her into a state of suspended animation with the "pale rune of punishment", and placed her in a circle of flames situatied at the summit of HindarfjallWP. She was later awakened by Sigurd.[1]

According to the Norwegian manuscript "Heimskringla", Skadi had divorced with the Vanir Njörðr and remarried with Odin. Although she is unmarried in this work, it should be noted to the degree that it would be deeply engraved in posterity.[4]

In Germanic cultures he is considered the leader of the Wild Hunt.[5]

At Ragnarök, he is destined to be devoured by Fenrir.[6]

Appearance

Personality

He is regarded to be incredibly wise, knowledgeable, cold, and even paranoid. He is called arrogant by Surtr. According to Caster Cú, he may have loved Skadi and that he is a "meddlesome worrywart" regardless of the world of origin. He may have been a gun hobbyist and also may have modified the Valkyrie's Saint Graph as an Assassin to grant them firearms.

Role

Fate/Prototype: Fragments of Sky Silver

Odin is mentioned by Brynhildr at several instances within the story, particularly with regards to her backstory. Brynhildr and Nigel Sayward even think that it is Odin who is forcing her to go berserk through her Primordial Rune in order to take out Manaka, who is considered a threat to humanity and the world by the Counter Force.

Fate/Grand Order

6,000 years ago, Odin foresaw the plans of both Goetia and the Alien God. In order to save the Human Order, he possessed a fairy in the English Lostbelt - a mischievous 14-year-old boy with a sword - and used him as a proxy. Calling himself "Grímr the Wise", Odin worked together with Aesc to wither the Lostbelt's Fantasy Tree and then disappeared.[7]

Fuyuki: Flame Contaminated City

Odin used Cú Chulainn as a proxy to help him save the Human Order. Cú Chulainn was initially summoned to the Fuyuki Singularity as a Lancer, but Odin granted him his Authority, transforming him into Caster and giving him some of Odin's abilities. Cú Chulainn working with Chaldea formed a bond between them that would connect them later in the English Lostbelt. When Cú Chulainn returned to the Throne of Heroes after resolving the singularity, Odin allowed him to keep his memories of that summoning.[7]

Avalon le Fae: Fae Round Table Domain

Odin summons Cú Chulainn Caster into the English Lostbelt a year before Chaldea arrives. Cú Chulainn spends the year waiting for Chaldea to arrive learning what he can about Odin's actions as Grímr 6,000 years ago, as he is not given that information when summoned.[7]

Fate:Lost Einherjar

In the 9th century, Odin gave Ragnar Lodbrok a set of three trials to see if Ragnar was worthy of marrying Aslaug, his descendant. After Ragnar completed the first trial, Odin froze time to appear before Ragnar and Aslaug in person and make himself known. Ragnar defiantly declared that he would succeed and take Aslaug as his wife, and Aslaug told Odin that she'd make him regret challenging them.[8]

In the present day, Odin's ravens Huginn and Muninn are observing the Doubles Subcategory Holy Grail War in Oslo, Norway.

Abilities

Odin was an living God rather than a Divine Spirit that lost their true body and fused with nature prior to the events of Ragnarök. This is due to the fact that Scáthach-Skadi, the only surviving god of the cataclysm in the Norse Lostbelt, didn't degrade into a lower-class Spirit.[9] While Odin is the Chief God of the Norse Pantheon,[1][2] Thor is widely considered to be the strongest.[10][11]

Being known as the God of Magecraft, Odin's abilities as a Mage are extraordinary. Even though Scáthach-Skadi possesses an EX Rank Territory Creation skill which allows her to reproduce her castle anywhere she goes, she claims she's "not very good" in comparison.[4] Although Cú Chulainn had initially been summoned to the Fuyuki Singularity as Lancer, when Odin granted him his Authority, it resulted on his class being changed to Caster.[7] He is the master of his Familiars: the Ravens Huginn and Muninn and the Wolves Geri and Freki. His steed is the eight-legged horse Sleipnir, who is the ancestor of the steed of Sigurd, Grani.[1]

Skills

  • Primordial Rune (- Rank): Odin is the first known owner of the eighteen Primordial Runes, passing them to his daughter, and also later spreading them throughout the world and used by those like Scáthach and Cú Chulainn.[12] Ochd Deug Odin uses all the runes together, and it is thought some use-restrictions may have been left in the runes by Odin.[13] When he appeared before his granddaughter and Ragnar, his mastery over the Runes may have been what allowed him to freeze time to a limited extent, but it was also possibly a powerful illusion capable of deceiving all things, sentient or not.

Noble Phantasms

Odin is known for having sacrificed one of his eyes in exchange for wisdom.[4] This granted him a multidimensional eye,[7] an Omniscience-Type Noble Phantasm capable of synchronizing with other World variants of himself. It is also noted by Scáthach-Skadi that he had used it to synchronize with the Valkyries before.[14] It allowed him to see into the world of the British Lostbelt from Proper Human History, and he can also foresee "what needs to be done and where," allowing him to know about the threats of Goetia and the Alien God well in advance.[7] This is the base for Scáthach-Skadi's Wisdom of the Great God skill.[4]

Odin wields the spear Gungnir, which is said to be a prototype of Gáe Bolg. EMIYA claims that Cú Chulainn's usage surpasses Gungnir in power.[15]

Odin's third Noble Phantasm is Gambanteinn Valhalla. It is used by Caster Cú Chulainn against Cernunnos.

Odin is the original owner of Gram, a sword as bright and powerful as the sun itself. Sigmund won it after overcoming Odin's test, and passed it on to Sigurd.[16]

The great god Odin gave the ancient war god TýrWP a divine sword which Summer Brynhildr imitates through the use of Primordial Runes and utilizing her Noble Phantasm Brynhildr Sigurtein.

    Rank: B
    Type: Anti-Unit Noble Phantasm

    Profile
Daughter of Odin, the Great God of Northern Europe, and one of the battle-maidens Valkyries. A tragic woman from Norse mythology.
A battle-maiden regarded in the same light as Sigrdrífa, the fated person of the great hero Sigurd in the "Volsunga Saga", she is also similarly portrayed as a Valkyrie who fell in love with Sigurd in the "Sigrdrífumál" and the "Helreið Brynhildar" from Elder Edda.

    Level 1 Bond
    Height/Weight: 172cm・52kg
    Source: Norse mythology
    Region: Europe
    Alignment: Neutral Good Gender: Female
She is regarded as the younger sister of Attila (King Atli) in the "Volsunga Saga", the "Guðrúnarkviða" and "Sigurðarkviða hin skamma" from Elder Edda and etc.(1)

    Level 2 Bond
Calm and devoted. There is some loneliness mixed in the gentle smile of this unfortunate battle-maiden.
Despite behaving like a "doll" with a weak sense of self back when she was a Divine Spirit as the eldest of the Valkyries, after falling on earth upon incurring the wrath of her fatherly Great God, she became endowed with human nature and personality due to the incidental meeting with Sigurd.

    Level 3 Bond
Compassionate and full of affection, she thoroughly devotes herself to the person she came to love. A woman who was supposed to spend her lifetime as good wife if it wasn't for that tragedy.
Although she never stopped loving Sigurd more than anyone else, she came to embrace the flames of killing intent at the end of a cursed tragic fate, eventually ending up killing him and also burning herself to ashes.

    Level 4 Bond
"Until Death Splits the Two Apart"
Rank: B Type: Anti-Unit Noble Phantasm
    Brynhild Romantia.
A Noble Phantasm that has molded the deep feelings of love towards the fated person as the spear of magic silver that she employed while alive.
The deeper her love towards the target becomes, the more the weight and size of this spear will change. It displays a especially tremendous efficacy in regards to her beloved Sigurd (it is also quite effective towards Siegfried, who has deep connections to him).

    Level 5 Bond
Even now, having turned into a Heroic Spirit, she still loves Sigurd deeply.
Nevertheless, if by any chance he is summoned before her, she will automatically point her spear towards him.
This is because, upon being shaped as a Heroic Spirit, both she herself and her Noble Phantasm ended up being given the definition of "something that kills Sigurd".

    Interlude
In regards to the "dragon-slayer" hero Siegfried, who possesses the same origins as Sigurd, although she recognizes him as "someone different from Sigurd", it seems that she somehow senses something close to him and thus feverish gazes at him tries to get alone just the two of them (and then tries to kill him).
And also, sometimes towards the Master as well...

(1)So they went ahead and pulled this out as well. When you also take into account the whole Siegfried/EMIYA thing, this whole mess seems like a huge Seiyuu joke.

01 - Hunt of the Golden Hind: Golden Stag and the Eventide Tempest
This Noble Phantasm is Rider's ace in the hole and forms the basis of her day-to-day life. With her flagship, The Golden Hind, at the fore, a vast flotilla of smaller craft expand ever outward and exterminates her enemies with overwhelming firepower. Its attributes contain vestiges of not only the fleet that eventually defeated the mighty Spanish Armada, but also of the stories involving the golden stag and the eventide tempest that had spread throughout the whole of Europe.

The eventide tempest is the encapsulation of all storms, from blizzards to cyclones, which manifest in the imagination of men as beasts and soldiers, saviors and monsters. Depending on who is speaking, the leader of these apparitions ranges from a fallen King Arthur to the Norse god Odin to the first murderer of men, Cain. in England, it is believed that Francis Drake rides the endless storm despite the fact that the role assigned to her is usually given to malevolent figures of history and myth.

    02 - Invincible Armada
The name given to the Spanish naval forces during the period of history known as the Age of Discovery.

The Invincible Armada consisted of an estimated 65,000 men serving on more than a hundred large warships, each of which weighed in at over 1,000 tons. Its might was such that it earned Spain the reputation of being "The kingdom on which the sun will never set."

    03 - Logbook
The sailing logs of a renowned explorer who successfully circumnavigated the globe.

The logs themselves are illegible, with pages cracked and flaking. However, it seems that the author of these logs was a ship's captain who made their name as both an adventurer and fleet commander.

    Details

    01 - Character Background
The person who circumnavigated the globe and paved the way for England to become the dominate superpower in the Age of Discovery through its substantial earnings. This person was also the one who was given credit for the virtual destruction of Spain's Invincible Armada, which caused the nation once thought of as "the kingdom on which the sun will never set" to teeter on the edge of collapse.

She is a person who has dedicated her life to hedonistic pursuits and sees no difference between a paragon of virtue and a rogue scoundrel. She revels in all things gaudy, whether they are in war or in her private life, and is content to chase after ephemeral pleasures and leave nothing of worth behind, much like the passing of a raging storm.

She is particularly entranced with treasures of gold and silver, but her true love lies not with enduring treasure, but those treasures that explode like fireworks and then quickly fade away.

As she so often declares, "I chase after gold so that I can scatter it like a storm!"

It is for this reason that she is wholly incompatible with the Hero of Legend that symbolizes "an inexhaustible treasury." She would also be at odds with the fox-eared Caster, as Caster is the epitome of eternity.

As a devoted libertine, all that matters to her is the inevitable crash at the end of it all. A Legendary Spirit who is completely indifferent to the frailty of human existence, she is content to indulge in her own whims and desires until death comes to greet her.

She died of dysentery at the age of 55. Her dying wish was that she be buried in her full armor.

    02 - "Franciscus Draco"
Sir Francis Drake is generally considered the first person to successfully circumnavigate the globe (the first person known to have attempted this feat -- Ferdinand Magellan -- was killed halfway through his voyage).

Though a male in life, Francis Drake has materialized in Fate/EXTRA as a woman.

During the time of Francis Drake, England was considered to be a second-rate power with no real influence beyond its borders and no colonies of worth overseas. It was primarily due to his voyages and successes on the high seas that gave rise to the British Empire. The combination of the wealth he brought to the country and the detailed maps he produced while circumnavigating the globe allowed Britain to assemble a fleet that rivaled that of Spain's.

An oft-mentioned aspect of the Drake mythos is that of his ship, the Golden Hind. Not only was it the flagship of Drake's fleet, it was seen as a symbol of hope and a source of miracles. The exploits the Golden Hind made possible elevated Drake (known and feared by the Spanish as El Draque) to a level on par with King Arthur. Both are said to dwell in Avalon and "across the ocean", the city of the dead, and will eventually return to lead England to true glory.

During what was to be the final confrontation between England and Spain's Invincible Armada, Francis Drake was commissioned as a vice admiral in the English navy. Using an unorthodox strategy involving the use of fire-ships, he forced the Spanish fleet into open water where they could be bombarded with cannon fire.

In addition - and this is merely literary creation - there is also a story full of romance in which Drake was a companion of Queen Elizabeth and, just before setting sail for the world circumnavigation, switched places with the Queen, who could no longer go out in public due to receiving a wound on her face.

    Legend
Once Ireland was called Erin, which means "green" in Gaelic. In this land named after its abundant greenery, there was a boy with great talent. His name was Sétanta. It is said that his father was the sun god Lugh and his mother was royalty. One day, he accidentally killed the guard dog protecting the house of master blacksmith Culann. Sétanta alone strangled to death "Culann's savage dog" that was well-known to have the strength of ten men. In order to compensate for this deed, for a while he himself would carry out the duties of a guard dog. Consequently, all began to call the boy "Culann's savage dog" i.e. Cú Chulainn.

In time, the grown Cú Chulainn was accepted as a member of the famous Akaeda Knights. His actions after that rendered him unmatched. He went to the "Land of Shadows" to fulfill his own love; there with incredible magic and unrivaled demonic spearmanship, he acquired Gáe Bolg. Cú Chulainn had become invincible but the sun still set. At a young age, a close Druid's prophecy said "in exchange for glorious deeds of valor, his life would be short" and accepting such a fate, he smiled and laughed.

In his final battle Cú Chulainn battled furiously and died pierced by his own magical spear. A crow landed on the shoulder of his standing corpse in his death. It is said that it was the incarnation of the witch Morrigan who continued to give him her unrequited love.

    Tactics
Naturally by his own beliefs, he prefers to fight with his full power as a warrior. However, due to the Command Spell of his Master Kotomine "Fight with everyone, then withdraw," he was commanded to involuntarily perform reconnaissance missions. Even in the middle of his first battle with EMIYA, he showed decisive action by leaving the battle to kill Emiya Shirou whom he recognized to have witnessed it. The withdrawal was also very skilled, giving the appearance of realizing that the situation was unfavorable. Contrary to his legendary battle prowess, Cú Chulainn's fighting in the Fifth Holy Grail War was extremely limited.

    Magic Resistance: C
Cú Chulainn holds a Magic Resistance of Rank C. Aria of two verses and below are cancelled, but beyond that High Thaumaturgy and Greater Rituals cannot even be defended against. That said, confronting a Servant of his superior speed (Agility A), finding the opportunity to use large-scale magecraft is next to impossible. Also, considerable skill is required to successfully "hit" him with the invoked magecraft. Judging from these factors, in situations of close combat, Cú Chulainn may have a "necessary and sufficient" rank of Magic Resistance.

In addition, as depicted in legend, he himself learned magecraft (18 Original Runes) in the "Land of Shadows", taking pride in having the skill and knowledge to qualify for Caster class. Even in a scene of the story, he sees through the presence of Medusa's Blood Fort Andromeda at a glance, considers the situation, and makes the decision not to destroy it. Cú Chulainn is not just a reckless warrior.

    Personal Abilities
    Battle Continuation: A
Legend tells that the dying Cú Chulainn tied himself to a tree before taking his last breath. For he who possesses such a legend, the dying struggle is particularly fierce. Even in a hopeless battle, Cú Chulainn was still able to demonstrate astonishing tenacity, delaying Gilgamesh for half a day.
Against Emiya who dextrously fended off his spear thrusts, Cú Chulainn countered with an unyielding fighting spirit.

    Disengage: C
The ability to withdraw from the battlefield in the midst of combat. Having been commanded to go on reconnaissance missions by his Master Kotomine, it can be said that this ability was fully demonstrated. From the start, Cú Chulainn excelled in seeing through battle situations, and had the responsibility to wage war and withdraw repeatedly from all the Servants.

    Runes: B
Cú Chulainn obtained 18 Runes from his studies with Scáthach (Norse Runes), appropriately using them to respond in different situations. It is said that among these runes, one with the purpose of searching existed. It was the ability that supported his elusive actions during the Holy Grail War.

    Protection from Arrows: B
Ability to deal with projectiles. This is a power Cu Chulainn was born with. It's said that it's possible for him to avoid any long range attack if he has made visual confirmation of his opponent. He can deal with most projectiles even in conditions where the opponent cannot be visually seen. Even if the battle with Hasan Sabbaha, he cancelled the throwing swords hurled from the darkness. As long as the attack is a thrown type, he can avoid even Noble Phantasms, but he can't gain the effects of this protection with respect to wide range attack types where the attack range of the weapon explodes on impact, or a direct attack by a weapon that has simply long reach.

    Divinity: B
The circumstances behind Cú Chulainn's great divinity is his father's existence. His father was Lugh, the god who governed over the sun, a member of the Danann divine family in Celtic Mythology. As a demigod whose father was an almighty god who possessed every skill such as knowledge, techniques and magic, and whose mother was Deichtine, younger sister of King Conchobar, he exhibited superior talent from birth. Boasting supernatural ability that separated him from ordinary people from a young age, in his training in the Land of Shadows, he received the original runes and terrible magic spear Gaé Bolg from Scáthach. Truly, he was a man predestined to become a hero. In Ireland, poetry and statues praising Cú Chulainn still remain to this day.

    Noble Phantasm
Gáe Bolg: Spear of Piercing Barbed Death
    Rank: B
    Type: Anti-Unit
    Range: 2~4
    Maximum targets: 1

While this is a technique employing Gáe Bolg as a melee attack, it is originally a magic spear for throwing. With a technique that reverses the meaning of "cause and effect" in the order of things, the "result" that "the heart of the opponent has been pierced" is created earlier than the moment it is thrust. Accordingly, the "cause" that "the lance has pierced through the heart" is generated from it later. Without a great deal of luck (like Artoria), it can be said that this is a technique that determines "if it is released, the opponent is dead." However, against Servants like Heracles who can move even when their heart is destroyed, there is a small disadvantage. Compared to the Spear of Striking Death Flight, both the range of effectiveness and the destructive power are weakened. However, it is worth mentioning that "the magical energy cost is low." For having such a strong effect as "almost certainly will destroy the enemy's heart," without the need of a terrible amount of magical power, it becomes an excellent Noble Phantasm of extraordinary usability.

    Gae Bolg: Striking Death Flight
    Rank: B+
    Type: Anti-Army
    Range: 5~40
    Maximum Targets: 50 People

The largest and most powerful attack delivered using Gae Bolg. The “attack that unleashes countless darts at the enemy” which legends speak of is Gae Bolg – Striking Death Flight. After accelerating through an approach run, Cú Chulainn takes to the skies and activates Striking Death Flight by hurling it towards the ground with all his might.
Different from Gae Bolg – Piercing Death Thorn, Striking Death Flight does not carry the property or concept of “always pierces the opponent’s heart”, but compared to Piercing Death Thorn, both power and area of effect are increased (intense consumption of Magic Energy). It is a technique that attacks the enemies together with the surrounding area, in a carpet bombing fashion. Even resilient bulwark or agile body are not immune to the power of Striking Death Flight; Gae Bolg will send the enemy horde flying. In legend, the demonic spear is said to split into 30 and pour down over the enemy, but it seems the number has increased after Cú Chulainn became a Heroic Spirit. During the battle with Emiya, Emiya spoke of Striking Death Flight “exceeding the original, Gungnir – Declaration of the Great God”.
