Pope JohannaWP (女教皇ヨハンナ, Jokyōkō Yohan'na?), Class Name Ruler (ルーラー, Rūrā?), is a Ruler-class Servant summoned by Ritsuka Fujimaru in the Grand Orders of Fate/Grand Order.
Profile
Identity
Pope JoanWP is a legendary figure from the Middle Ages, supposedly a 9th-century woman who disguised herself as a man to enter the Catholic priesthood and rose high enough to become Pope for a short period, going against the Catholic Church's ingrained tradition of male popes.
She didn't actually exist in history, being a purely fictional character. Though the story was widely believed for centuries, there were no references to her of any kind until the 13th century, and modern historians have found no evidence of her existence and concluded the legend to be a work of fiction.[2]
She is depicted as "The High PriestessWP" in TarotWP's Major ArcanaWP deck.[1]
Appearance
The Craft Essence "Keep a Prayer Burning in Your Heart" was Johanna's first appearance with brown hair, well before she was made playable and was shown to have brown hair in her First and Second Ascensions.

Personality
Her existence being disproved by factual evidence both depresses and frustrates Johanna. However, she also believes it was right to do so. At times, knowing she is a fictional existence, she questions her ability to perform her duty and her right to pray to the Lord, fearing she is deceiving others when she does.[3]
She is as kind-hearted as they come, but her being cheerful, spunky and confrontational is nothing like one would expect from a pope. Bradamante describes her as having a "might makes right" attitude akin to Turpin.[4]
She approves of earnest prayer, lively religious debate, and a pious, virtuous life. Still, she can't quite shed her easygoing air and doesn't deny that it detracts somewhat from the gravity of her presence. After spending a bit of time with her, the vague sense that she might actually be wild and fierce will only grow stronger.
She has no reservations about a friendly bit of fisticuffs, all in the name of being spirited, charitable, and companionable. She doesn't think the weak should bow to the strong and is more than willing to risk her life for the weak.
All of this and more explains how she is the exemplar of those walking the righteous path of a believer in God. Even if she is fictional, one could say she has precisely the mindset a pope should.

Role
Fate/Grand Order
Realm of the Thanatos Impulse: Traum
Johanna is the leader of the Restoration Realm. Unlike Constantine XI, her second-in-command, she is much more benevolent and aids Sherlock and Kadoc when they infiltrate the city. She is often seeing praying at the church or performing a memorial for the servants who have died.
Valentine's Day Event: Johanna-san and Unconfirmed Love
During the prologue, which takes in Chaldea in Valentine's Day. People are getting their chocolate and such give blessings by priest-type servants such as Johanna herself who was one to bleesed to Jeanne d'Arc Alter Santa Lily however the alarm turned on due to minute Singularity being made and together with Rama, Jeanned d'Arc Alter Santa Lily and Nursery Rhyme being only available to Rayshift with Ritsuka.
After arriving, they went to a town nearby, firstly going to the church after getting to know about the rumors. While others went to try to find more about where the Holy Grail may be, Johanna stays at the church to keep an eye there. After 5~6 hours, others went and see seemingly sleeping Johanna that was still in praying position. After being wake up, they went to so-called basement of the church where they found a mage with a grail and after defeating them, they wanted to use a wish that the grail had to damage the humanity with the Singularity however, Johanna stepped in.
When Johanna woked up, she found herself in a weird place, being meeted by Angel (being represented as Caren with a bag on) and Devil (being represented as Angra Mainyu) who reveal they are consciousness of the grail and that Johanna is about to die, unless she will wish for something as she touched the grail but being a Ruler, Johanna didn't had a wish in mind, so they took her subconscious wish which surprised both Angel and Devil and before Johanna could argue or such, she was sent back to reality.
Abilities
Though her very existence was denied by history, Johanna is still a pope and bearer of miracles.[6][7] While she led the Restoration Realm's assault on fortified city of Sirmium's north gate, Johanna was shot at by the Via Regia Archers who were defending the gate, only for their arrows and bullets to avoid her. Afterward, Johanna simply commanded the gate to open, causing it to open on its own.[7]
Class Skills
- Magic Resistance (EX Rank): As a pope, Johanna boasts exceptional Magic Resistance.
- Territory Creation (A Rank): From the moment she took her seat in the Holy See, Pope Johanna became a woman of undeniable influence.
Personal Skills
- Saint of Imaginations (A Rank): The scholarly consensus is clear that there is no historical evidence for Pope Johanna's existence. However, that did nothing to diminish the popularity of the legends about her, which have persisted since the 13th century. This ability simulates skills connected to saints. At rank A, she is little different from an actual saint.
- The Shunned Papal Procession (C Rank): One of the many legends of Johanna tells of her dying in childbirth while processing to the papal residence, leading people to shun the street where the event is said to have occurred. This is integrated into Territory Creation, allowing her to trap foes in a simple but powerful Bounded Field. A Western Anti-Hero would find it difficult to even approach.
- Disputation of the Pope (EX Rank): Johanna was the subject of more controversies than simply the question of her existence; the positions she espoused regarding corruption within the Church, her approach to philosophy, and the discourse which addressed so many aspects of her life serve as sources of her power and faith.
Noble Phantasm
Johanna's Noble Phantasm is Legendum Pāpa Thronus.
