Sagiri is a former Nether Gate member. As a child and a member of Nether Gate she was trained to kill and her trainer taught her to smile all the time to catch her target off guard. One of her victim is Nakula's father, a hard-line Armes chieftain. When the Nether Gate was disbanded, Oboro and Shigure took her in and they started to run a detective agency.
During the Sun Rune War, Oboro and Shigure officially joined in the Loyalist Army, while Sagiri stayed with them and choose not to fight because she doesn't want to kill people anymore. As an unofficial member of the Loyalist Army, she still help Freyjadour.
One day on the Sable's Inn, she met Nakula who wanted to kill her to take revenge for his father's death. Oboro and Shigure protect her and after learning that the Nether Gate is working with the Godwin's, Nakula joined in the Loyalist Army. After dealing with Nakula, Sagiri officially joined in the Loyalist Army. After the war, Oboro leaves her behind, so she continues work under Fuyo. Every so often, her smile slips a little.
After solving the bandit mystery at Sable, talk to the Armes soldier upstaris in the Inn. After finishing talking to him, go to the Oboro's Detective Agency in the HQ. With Oboro, Shigure and Sagiri in the party, return and talk to Nakula. Sagiri will join.
Sagiri belongs in the top tier of L-range physical combatants, but while she does everything well, there is always someone better. She will never be as fast as Lu, never be as customized or abused as 3-slotters like Killey, or never be as powerful as Cathari. None of her skills break the "A" level, either. However, her Magic Defense is passable (unlike Cathari), she has a very high multi-strike capability (Cathari and Killey only hit once), and her HP is very high for a back row combatant (Lu, by comparison, has the lowest in the game). Ironic that the Nether Gate alum is known for being a strong backline fighter with staying power as opposed to a glass-cannon assassin.
Sagiri gives two uses of the Ambush ability to her military unit.
Sagiri is not only a very capable investigator, she's also a member of our family. At least, that's how I think of her. I hope she feels the same way.
Nether Gate's chief trainer was a horrible woman. She thought that having a little girl come up to people and smile would catch them off guard, so she trained poor Sagiri to smile all the time.
I wanted Sagiri and Shigure to have a normal life, so we all live together now. In all the last eight years, I've never seen Sagiri without that damn smile. Nether Gate's destroyed everything it's ever touched.
Raging Nostrum
That drug loses its power quickly, so you can't make a lot of it in advance. So the stuff they're using can't be from the old organization. They have to be making new batches. They know how to make it, so that means they'll use it again. I'd be careful if I were you.
Trivia
Her name means "Mist" and, like her fellow investigators Shigure and Oboro, shares her name with a Japanese destroyer in World War II.
