Ijiryu

Ijiryu is the name of two stage enemies featured in Cannon Dancer.

Information

Ijiryu

Appears in Stage 05 (Prague).

Ijiryu is a humanoid-shaped defense robot found in the Capital City, hanging upside down from ceilings. It has a skull-like head with one purple sensor, a mechanical left hand, a right arm ended in a beam cannon and a wheeled contraption instead of a lower torso, attached to rails on the ceiling that allow it to move around.

Ijiryu has three different attacks depending on Kirin's position. If Kirin stands close enough to it, Ijiryu moves sideways and swings its skull head at him. If Kirin stands far to its left, then Ijiryu1 extends its left arm and claws at his direction. And if Kirin stands to its far right, Ijiryu1 shoots a laser beam from its right arm cannon.

Ijiryu has limited movement, so it can't move far from its standing point and its attacks are not fast enough so it can be countered and destroyed pretty easily.

Ijiryu2

Appears in Stage 05 (Prague).

Ijiryu2 is a smaller robot serving the defense of the Capital City as well. This Ijiryu is a two-way conical machine with two red sensors, which floats in place while rotating. Ijiryu2 doesn't attack by itself, instead it generates two beams of energy that move on their own, a distance away from the robot, and can injure Kirin by direct contact.

Ijiryu2 can generate either two vertical energy beams standing far apart from each other that move back and forth in place; or two vertical beams next to each other, that slowly move up and down. The energy beams can't be attacked or destroyed, so Kirin must avoid them and destroy Ijiryu2 directly to deactivate them.
