The Vault is a starbase located in the Haakona System. It was used by the Romulan Star Empire to research Borg technology.
Following the destruction of Romulus in 2387, the Borg technology at the Vault was used to retrofit the mining vessel Narada and turn it into a near-invincible dreadnought. The Vault was abandoned shortly afterward.
In 2409, it is home to the Reman Resistance, led by Captain Obisek, following their victory against the Tal Shiar on Brea III.
Missions involved
“The Vault”: The player, sent to investigate anomalous energy reading coming from the Vault, discovers that the Reman Resistance intends to steal thalaron weapons for use against the Tal Shiar.- “Darkness Before the Dawn”: The Remans return to the Vault following their victory at Brea III, intending to make it their new home.
- “Vault Shuttle Event”: The Tal Shiar occupies the Vault, and Obisek and the players must retake it.
- “The Vault: Ensnared”: The Tholians attack the Haakona System and try to capture the Vault.

- In The Needs of the Many, the station is referred to as "The Forge" by Quen of Klingon Intelligence. It is said to be near Chorgh'etlh, or Eta Crucis.
