Remus was the original homeworld of the Remans and the twin planet of Romulus, the capital world of the Romulan Star Empire. The planet served as a primary source of dilithium for the Star Empire.
In 2386 it became apparent that Remus could no longer be mined without risking a Praxis-like disaster, so the Remans migrated to the planet Crateris instead. Remus and Romulus were both destroyed by the Hobus supernova the following year.
