Yolkomotive

The Yolkomotive^[1] is a vehicle that appears in the Sonic Prime television series. It is one of three ships that are housed in the Yoke HQ, operated by Drs. Deep and Done-It.

Season two

Upon arrival in No Place, the Yolkomotive was launched from the Yoke HQ, in a mission to retrieve the Prism Shard from the dimension. The Yolkmotive located the now-hijacked Kraken where the shard was located, and successfully captured the shard from Knuckles the Dread with the use of Eggforcers. After the Kraken was repaired by Rusty Rose, it gave chase to the Yolkmotive and shot down its starboard engine. Despite evasive maneuvers, the Yolkomotive suffered damage to its undercarriage when it headed into a joust with the Kraken, with Dr. Deep and Dr. Done-It losing possession of the shard to Sonic.^[1] Dr. Done-It programmed the Eggforcers in repairing the Yolkomotive, and later returned to the Kraken in an attempt to reclaim the shard.^[2]

When the shards collected by the Chaos Council were stolen by Sonic and Tails Nine in their headquarters at New Yoke City, the Yolkomotive was deployed at the orders of Mr. Dr. Eggman. The Yolkomotive shot down the Shattercraft as it was about to enter the Void via a portal, but was later intercepted by the Kraken.^[3]

Season three

The Yolkamotive would later partake in the battle of The Grim, during which it was shot down and crash-landed at the base of the Citadel, losing its port engine. After the Chaos Council were banished to the Void, Rusty and Black Rose commandeered the Yolkamotive to transport Shadow to the restored Green Hill. En route, they rescued Sonic, Thorn Rose, and Birdie after the latter injured her wing. With Sonic fading away, having sacrificed himself to save the Shatterverse, Black Rose pushed the Yolkamotive to its limits in order to reach Green Hill's gateway in time. The group were hindered by the rocks in the Void, and although Rusty Rose tried to blast a path through them, one rock struck the Yolkamotive's starboard engine, knocking it off and slowing the ship to a crawl. Luckily, however, they made it far enough for Shadow to carry Sonic the rest of the way.

Trivia

• The Yolkomotive is known as the "Egg Mobile" in the Hungarian dub (Tojás mobilnak).
• The Yolkomotive's name is a portmanteau of the words "yolk" and "locomotive".
• The Yolkomotive’s functions are similar to the Kraken.
