Kraken (ship)

The Kraken (クラーケン^[1], Kurāken^?) is an object that appears in the Sonic Prime television series. It is a submarine that was formerly commissioned by the Chaos Council, before being hijacked by the Angel's Voyage crew.

History

TV series

Season one

The Chaos Council deployed a submarine to No Place in an attempt to retrieve the Prism Shard from the dimension, commanded by Rusty Rose. Upon arrival, Rusty Rose and her robots attacked and heavily damaged the Angel's Voyage, before setting course towards the location of the Prism Shard. The Angel's Voyage was eventually repaired and chased after the submarine. Having caught up, the crew fired Sea Dogs onto the robots and Rusty Rose, causing the latter of whom to stop the submarine by accident, allowing the crew to board and clear the rest of the forces.^[2]

Season two

With the robots defeated and the Prism Shard in Dread's possession, the Angel's Voyage crew assumed control of the submarine and abandoned their ship, under the Dread's belief that, "A good captain goes down with his ship, but a great captain steals someone else's." Rusty Rose, who had been tied up and taken in as prisoner, revealed the submarine's name to be the Kraken.^[3]

Dr. Done-It and Dr. Deep arrived in No Place on the Yolkomotive, successfully captured the Shard from the Dread, and disabled all of the Kraken's main systems, but also deserted Rusty Rose. In response, Rusty Rose agreed to join the pirate crew and help restore power to the Kraken. The crew then used the Kraken to give chase to the Yolkomotive, much to the surprise of Dr. Done-It. The chase was brought underwater, damaging a Loop-De-Loop in the process. After resurfacing, both the Kraken and the Yolkomotive headed into a joust, which damaged the Kraken's starboard side, rendering it unable to fly.^[3][4]
