Ozzy[2], also spelled as Ozzie[1], is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series produced by Paramount Pictures and its spin-offs. He is a Golden Retriever and the pet of Tom and Maddie Wachowski, whom the former claims to be his best animal friend.

Appearance
Ozzy is a regular-looking dog of the Golden Retriever breed. As such, he possesses golden fur. He also has a black nose, droopy ears, and brown eyes. For attire, he wears a brown collar with a silver buckle and a bone-shaped tag.
History
Film series
Sonic the Hedgehog
When Tom came home from work in Green Hills, Ozzy happily greeted his master. Soon after, he came with Maddie to stay with Rachel while Maddie looked for apartments in San Francisco.
When Tom showed up at Rachel's house with someone wrapped in a blanket, Ozzy sensed an unconscious Sonic underneath the blanket. Curious, Ozzy tugged at the blanket until it fell off and Sonic was revealed to Maddie, Rachel and Jojo. After Sonic recovered, he met Ozzy face-to-face and noted that he did not see the appeal Tom had for him. Regardless, Ozzy would lick Sonic with affection. After Sonic, Tom and Maddie then left for the Transamerica Pyramid, Ozzy would remain in Rachel's house, amused observing a playful Jojo ignoring her mother's pleas to release her.
After returning to Green Hills, Ozzy would enter Sonic's new room in the Wachowski house's attic. Although Sonic tried ordering him to leave, Ozzy would shower him with affectionate licks until he relented.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
After Sonic returned to the house from fighting crime, Ozzy woke him up by licking him, even though Sonic did not want to wake up. As Maddie reminded Sonic that he promised to meet up with Tom, Ozzy pulled Sonic's blanket off of him, causing the hedgehog to fall to the floor. Later on, Ozzy and Sonic saw Tom and Maddie off as they went to Hawaii for Rachel's wedding. Ozzy endured Sonic's antics around the house for the entire day, such as him changing their hair styles and filling the house with foam. The duo eventually sat on the couch to watch movies until the power went out (due to Robotnik and Knuckles arrival). Sonic attempted to tell horror stories to Ozzy, only for the dog to scurry off in fear.
Days later, Ozzy went with Tom, Maddie, Sonic, and the new members of the group, Miles "Tails" Prower and Knuckles the Echidna, to a baseball field to play, and met up with Maddie before heading to the truck to go for some ice cream.

Ozzy celebrates Sonic the Hedgehog BEarthday alongside Miles "Tails" Prower, Knuckles the Echidna, Tom Wachowski, and Maddie Wachowski. He was shown to be somewhat jelous over the fact that SOnic is part of the family.

After Sonic moved in with the Wachowskis, Ozzy would be given table scraps from Sonic.[2]
One day, when Ozzy caught Sonic leaving the Wachowski house in order to socialize in spite of Maddie's wishes, Sonic told Ozzy to keep it a secret, or he would no longer feed him table scraps.[2]

Knuckles: "The Warrior"
One day, Knuckles took Ozzy up on the roof of the Wachowskis' house and attempted to train him to have a "steely" focus as a guard "wolf". A confused Ozzy did not listen, and Knuckles' attempt was foiled when Sonic came to talk while Tails led Ozzy back down the roof.[3]
Later, after a meditation and vowing to make himself at home like a warrior, Knuckles transformed the Wachowskis' living room into a warrior fighting pit, dressed a reluctant Ozzy in a battle helmet, and forced him to fight their mailman in combat. An alarmed Maddie halted the fight and promptly grounded Knuckles.[3]
During his grounding, Knuckles made contact with the spirit of Pachacamac, who in an attempt to hug Knuckles fell through the attic and disturbed Ozzy by crashing through several objects.[3]
Personality
True to his breed, Ozzy is a very loyal, friendly, and affectionate dog. He is always happy to be with his loved ones, and eagerly greets them upon arrival. He likewise took an immediate liking to Sonic and licks him whenever he gets the chance. However, he still possesses some protective instincts, prompting him to react aggressively to what could be a potential threat to his owners.

Ozzy has an acute sense of smell and other strong animal senses, being able to detect a foreigner that Tom had concealed under a blanket.

Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic is one of Ozzy's owners and friends. Before their first encounter, Sonic and Tom had previously mentioned Ozzy in a discussion about the state of their friendship. Sonic and Ozzy would first meet in person at Rachel's apartment in San Francisco, where Sonic would deny the appeal of him. Ozzy would take an immediate affection for him, and approach him to lick him all over. When Sonic earned his spot in the Wachowski house in the attic, Ozzy approached Sonic once again to give him licked, with Sonic jokingly threatening him of his skills with nunchucks.
During Robotnik's hiatus, Sonic would be giving Ozzy his table scraps under the condition Ozzy doesn't tell anyone he has been sneaking out. During Tom and Maddie's vacation to Hawaii, Sonic and Ozzy would meet up to play games while wrecking the house. Sonic would style his fur, bathe with him, and hang out with him while watching movies on Tom and Maddie's television.
Overall, Sonic seems to have taken a strong liking of Ozzy and is willingly to have him around a lot.[citation needed]
