— Ivy, Sonic the Hedgehog #71

Ivy[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. She is the daughter of the Conductor and his wife. She was also one of the people who watched the Clean Sweepstakes events.

Concept and creation

Ivy was designed by Min Ho Kim, whose appearance was influenced by Yotsuba from Yotsuba&!, and Pan from Dragon Ball.[2]

Appearance

Ivy is an anthropomorphic dog/St. Bernard-Akita hybrid with black eyes, pink fur and white skin. For attire, she wears a green and white shirt with her name on it, black shorts, white gloves, and black and green tennis shoes.

History

Past

Ivy and her family were saved by Sonic during the War to Take Back the Planet.[3]

Phantom Riders

The Conductor's wife took Ivy to the Clean Sweepstakes event to watch it in person. She admired Surge for taking down the Phantom Rider.[4] After the dodgeball event, she met Surge in Misty Spire town and said how she wanted to be like her, but soon after her mother told her not to bother Surge, she waved goodbye, saying how she was going to be spiky and punching a lot of guys too.[1]

Game appearances

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog

The Conductor mentioned how Sonic saved him, and the kids' lives, including Ivy, on multiple occasions.[3]

Personality

Ivy is energetic, full of excitement, but she is also obedient.
