Iron Material

The Iron Material is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a type of Material which is used for building and/or upgrading vessels.

Description

In Sonic Rush Adventure, Iron Materials appear as lumpy chunks of gray metallic rocks. In the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Lost World, they are lumps in the form of several small black and gray pebbles. Despite the substance's apparent consistency, it is very versatile in building a number of devices.

In gameplay, the Iron Materials are used in conjunction with other Materials to build and/or upgrade various machines such as vessels or RC Vehicles.

Sonic Rush Adventure

In Sonic Rush Adventure, the player can earn Iron Materials by clearing the following stages' Acts:

• Whale Point
• Hidden Island 1
• Hidden Island 2
• Hidden Island 3
• Hidden Island 5
• Hidden Island 7
• Hidden Island 9
• Hidden Island 11
• Hidden Island 13
• Hidden Island 14
• Hidden Island 16

Unlike most of the other Materials, the player only earns one Iron Material per level, regardless of Rank.

Sonic Lost World

In the Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Lost World, the player can earn Iron Materials by clearing Silent Forest's Zones. The Rank the player gets from clearing the Zones determines the amount of Iron Materials earned:

As an alternative to collecting Iron Materials, the player can combine other Materials in Tails' Lab to create Iron Materials. To create one Iron Material, the player needs at least three White Materials.
