The Froggy Badnik is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. It is a frog-based Badnik in the image of Froggy created by Orbot and Cubot during their Winter Jam reality show.
Appearance
Looking nearly identically to the original Froggy, this Badnik resembles a green-skinned non-anthropomorphic frog with a round body and four limbs. Their limbs are rather thin, and each one has webbed feet with two toes each. They also have a white underbelly, orange stripes around their body, red dots on their cheeks, and medium-large eyes with pale yellow sclera and wide black pupils.
Unlike the original Froggy however, this Badnik has a visible zipper on its back, making it heavily resemble a plush toy despite being a robot.
History
Sonic the Hedgehog: Winter Jam
At some point before Orbot and Cubot's Winter Jam reality show, the Froggy Badnik was created by Orbot and Cubot after the original Froggy managed to escape from the Giant Chopper sent to capture Sonic and his friends in order to accompany Big during the reality show. In addition, the Badnik was also created to be secretly teased as a mysterious "brand-new, big, bad Badnik" created to be destroyed in order to keep Omega from shooting down the place in an attempt to escape.[1]
During Orbot and Cubot's Winter Jam, the Froggy Badnik would be teamed up with Big to form Team Big and participate in the various events throughout the show in order to masquerade as the actual Froggy. However, during the "Sculpt Jam" event, the Badnik would use its laser eyes to create a beautiful ice sculpture of Dr. Eggman, much to the amazement of the other contestants. Due to the Badnik sequence-breaking, Cubot reveals that "Froggy" was actually the previously teased "big, bad Badnik," due to them needing to improvise after the real Froggy escaped from being captured by the Giant Chopper. This leads to Cubot chucking the Froggy Badnik after Omega began going on a destructive frenzy, though whether or not the Froggy Badnik was destroyed during this affair is unknown.[1]
Powers and abilities
Unlike the original Froggy, this Badnik has the ability to shoot lasers from its eyes that are capable of creating a detailed sculpture of Dr. Eggman from a large block of ice.[1]
