Nate is the male protagonist in Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2. He is Rosa's male counterpart.
Appearance
Nate is a short, slim young man. He has pale skin, long dark brown hair, and brown eyes. He wears a red tennis visor with a black and white Poké Ball-shaped logo on the front, which his messy hair seems to be tucked up under, fluffing out over the top and sides, keeping it off his face and neck.
His outfit consists of a short-sleeved cobalt blue jacket with a popped collar and black sides, wide-bottomed knee-length white shorts with a drawstring, and underneath it all, a shiny, black, skintight wetsuit with teal accents, which has elbow-length sleeves and ankle-length legs, falling short enough to show that he seemingly isn't wearing socks. He wears low-topped, lightweight red and black sneakers with white laces and an athletic appearance, and carries a large white messenger bag, with a blue stripe along the closing edge of the flap that resembles a Poké Ball.
Personality
Nate has no distinctive personality, a trait shared by most protagonists in the Pokémon games. It is entirely up to the player to decide.
Biography
Nate was born 14 years before the events of Pokémon Black and White, and 16 years before Black and White 2. His mother worked as a nurse at the Pokémon Center in Nimbasa city and by the events of the Generation 5 sister games, they live in Aspertia City with their mother and nearby his longtime friend Hugh.
Nate is given his first Pokémon by Bianca, and chooses the Pokémon weak to Hugh's.

Trivia
- If Rosa is chosen in B2W2, the player character can encounter Nate in front of the Battle Subway in Nimbasa City, where he will ask the player to tag battle with him to defeat the two Subway Masters.
- Nate bears an uncanny resemblance to Hilbert.
