Sun and Moon

Her shirt is beige with a camouflage pattern of pastel green and pink paints. Her jeans and sneakers are gray: the former are a bit ripped. Mina wears a pair of gray overalls, who have a camouflage pattern like her shirt, her hair is tied into two pigtails.

Personality

Mina loves her artwork and focuses more on it than her duties as a Trial Captain. Because of this, she tells the player character that she has not created a trial yet because she was working on her paintings and didn't have enough time to create one. As a result, she appears lazy, slothful and rather drowsy in appearance and personality.

Etymology

The name Mina may come from 美 (mi, "beauty", because both Fairy types and art are often associated with beauty), "minimalism" and "jasmine", as her Japanese name originates from a type of jasmine.

Her Japanese name, Matsurika, comes from 茉莉花 (matsurika, the Japanese name for Sambac jasmine).

Biography

Sun and Moon

Mina is the Trial Captain of Poni Island, although at first she doesn't have a real trial. She informs the player character about an Ultra Beast and battles then. After that, she makes her own trial in Poni Gauntlet, and says to battle all the other trainers and then battle her.

Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon

She creates a trial in Seafolk Village, the last to be challenged by the player character. It consists of obtaining petals from all seven other Trial Captains, and then facing off against a Totem Pokémon, Ribombee.

Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee!

After getting the secret technique chop down, and leaving the S.S. Anne., the player character sees her on the dock. She says she missed her ship, and then says she'll stay here in Kanto for a while. Then she asks the player character to a battle, and jokes that she won't return if she doesn't win.
