Overview |
Choze (チョゼ, Choze) was a martial artist and user of the Fist Of The Pure Blood Master Race.
After eating a monster cell offered to him by Gouketsu, Choze became a monster and joined the Monster Association. He was killed by Suiryu.[1]
Appearance
Choze is a very muscular and tall man (Saitama, who is 175 cm, apparently only reaches his chest).[2] His eyes are light-colored, and his hair parts on the left. He wears a red turtleneck featuring a checkered pattern, black gloves, and white pants. Notably, he appears to lack eyebrows.
After consuming a monster cell and transforming into a Mysterious Being, Choze undergoes significant changes in his appearance. Along with taking on a more demonic look and developing horns, he grows spikes on his shoulders and forearms, and his hands turn black with spiked fingers. His head and body seem to merge with his clothing, reflecting the color and checkered pattern of his red turtleneck.[3]
Personality

Choze is an arrogant and racist individual who looks down on others. In combat, he is exceptionally vicious and bloodthirsty, comparable to Bakuzan, as he frequently pushes his opponents to the brink of death. During the Super Fight, Choze claims that the only reason he refrains from finishing off his adversaries is due to the referee's interference, suggesting that he relishes the act of killing. He exhibits extreme sadism, finding amusement in the screams and tears of his opponents. Additionally, he often kills for the sheer thrill of testing his power; for example, he mercilessly snaps Rosie's neck just to assess the Monster Cells' effects on his body.

Moreover, he holds a supremacist mindset, believing that with the finest genetic material and meticulous breeding practices, he and his clan are superior to the weak and ordinary population. Consequently, he arrogantly proclaims that he and his clan will eventually dominate the world due to their superior genes, viewing the tournament as the perfect opportunity to showcase his supremacist ideals. His confidence extends to the point where, despite witnessing Saitama and Suiryu's overwhelming strength in the finals, he still takes time to relax and boast about his own power before deciding to eliminate both of them.
However, his extreme arrogance ultimately becomes his downfall as he fixates too much on his supremacist beliefs, foolishly lowering his guard and being easily defeated with a single punch from Saitama, who finds him quite bothersome. After transforming into a monster, his arrogance surges, leading him to believe that he can effortlessly defeat Saitama in his new form. This illustrates his profound superiority complex, preventing him from learning from his previous mistakes. This contributes to his second downfall at the hands of Suiryu, whom he similarly underestimates, despite having witnessed the martial artist defeat several other monsterized opponents. He admits that his already twisted morality as a human devolves into nothingness after his transformation, as he brutally attacks Jakumen to test his newfound strength. Furthermore, his supremacist views intensify due to the insanity brought on by his monster form, leading him to deem his past ambitions of ruling the Earth as worthless. Consequently, he vows to exterminate every living human, sparing only a select few whom he deems worthy.
History
He belongs to a clan of people who are dedicated to creating genetic perfection and purity in an effort to create a master race. He was bred to be the perfect human under his clan.[4]

Human Monster Saga
Monster Raid Arc

Choze made an announcement during his campaign that he views poorly of the other contestants and caused a sensation. Choze is participating in the Super Fight Tournament in C-City at the C-City Super Stadium for the first time.[5] While watching the match between Max and Suiryu, he was shocked by the latter's strength, where Max was effortlessly defeated by his opponent.[6]
He easily defeats Mentai in his first match, surprising the audience and the crowd with his overwhelming power. Choze is mentioned to have said that he feels that he is the true front runner in the tournament.[7] In the second match, he viciously defeats Dave to the verge of death.[8]
Super Fight Arc

During his fight against Saitama, Choze gabs endlessly about his genetically superior view during the fight and eventually foolishly lets his guard down, which causes a bored Saitama to send him flying to silence him. According to Saitama, ultimately, no matter how pure or superior his genetics were, at the end of the day, he was still just a mere human.[9] Choze is later present at the closing ceremony, when it is suddenly interrupted by The Three Crows and Gouketsu, who threatens to kill them unless they choose to become monsters.[10]

Later, he kills Rosie, who had just recently become a monster himself having consumed one of the Monster Cells. Afterwards, Choze, thinking that "for someone who has the finest genes in all of humanity who aims for the ultimate power," eats a monster cell himself. Following his transformation, he attacks Jakumen just for the sake of testing his newfound strength. During this time, he vows to kill Saitama for humiliating him by punching and sending him flying while yawning.[11]

After Suiryu takes down several transformed martial artists, Choze battles Suiryu evenly to the point of causing Suiryu to struggle to fight him. After a few exchanges of blows, Choze eventually uses his Inferior Race Annihilation Shot in an attempt to kill Suiryu, only for the latter to manage to deflect it into the sky with his kick. Seeing the danger of Choze's power, Suiryu rushes towards him and breaks his horns before engaging in a fast exchange of hits until Suiryu initiates the Void Shaking Tiger Fist technique on Choze's belly, which causes him to heavily cough blood. Immediately after, Choze is finished off by Suiryu, who unleashes his Void Phoenix Ascension Fist on him, finally defeating Choze.[12]
Abilities and Powers
Choze demonstrated enhanced strength by effortlessly defeating Mentai and Dave in their respective matches without sustaining any injuries. As a human, he could easily snap the neck of monsterified Rosie, who had transformed into a robust and muscular Mysterious Being.
After transforming into a Mysterious Being via a monster cell, Choze's physical prowess increased greatly, to the point where he was able to put up a significant fight against Suiryu, being the first person to cause the martial arts champion to bleed in a while. Additionally, their fight was so fast that the other Super Fight contestants could not keep up with their movements.[13]
Physical Abilities
Immense Strength: Choze possessed superhuman strength as he brutally defeated other strong martial artists in the Super Fight tournament with little to no effort.[14][15] He often implied that his superhuman strength was the result of careful breeding techniques used by his clan. He was strong enough to fully twist Rosie's neck when the latter was in his muscular monster form.[16] After transforming into a Mysterious Being, Choze's strength increased to the point where a single punch was enough to send a muscular human flying out of the stadium.[17] He was also capable of trading blows with Suiryu, with the latter even remarking that Choze was a decent fighter and the first person in a while to make him bleed.[18]

Immense Speed and Reflexes: Choze was very fast and agile. As a human, he was able to quickly get behind Rosie and snap his neck before the latter could realize what just happened. As a Mysterious Being, Choze was capable of clashing evenly with Suiryu and keeping up with him throughout most of their fight. Their speed was so fast that the other contestants were not able to follow their movements.[19]
Enhanced Durability: Choze was quite resilient. He managed to endure several of Suiryu's blows, which were capable of defeating many other monsterified tournament participants with ease.[20]
Supernatural Abilities

Energy Projection: After becoming a monster, Choze gained the ability to produce energy.
- Inferior Race Annihilation Shot (劣等種殲滅弾, Rettō-Shu Senmetsu-dan; Viz: Inferiority Annihilation): Choze could release a powerful energy orb from between his horns. It was strong enough to cause Suiryu to struggle while holding it back and create a large opening in the clouds. Its first and only use was at the end of their fight.[21]
Fighting Style

Expert Martial Artist: Choze was a remarkably skilled martial artist who advanced easily through the Super Fight tournament. In hand-to-hand combat, he was capable of holding his own against Suiryu, a martial arts prodigy and four-time consecutive champion, putting up a significant challenge before ultimately being defeated.
- The Fist Of The Pure Blood Master Race (選民血脈格闘術, Senmin Ketsumyaku Kakutō Jutsu; Viz: Combat Arts of the Chosen People): Initially, Choze didn't have the chance to show his style since he was sent flying by Saitama for incessantly talking too much during the fight. His fighting style involved fast movements. After becoming a monster, Choze incorporated his new energy projecting ability into his fighting style.
Miscellaneous Abilities
Longevity: Like any human who had eaten a monster cell, Choze gained a longer life span.[22]
