Overview |
Apollo (アポロ, Aporo) is an artificial esper and an agent of the psychic research organization, Tsukuyomi.[1]
Appearance
Apollo is a man of average height and build. He has pale hair and large eyes with very small pupils. His most notable facial feature is the star/cross pattern which runs horizontally along his forehead.
He dresses in a very formal manner; wearing a pair of white gloves, dark dress shoes and pants, a belt, a plain white tie, and a dark dress shirt which resembles the night sky/outer space.
During his introduction, Apollo wore a simple white mask with a large smile and a star/cross pattern similar to that on his forehead.
Personality
Apollo is a cunning and calculated antagonist with a collected demeanor, not being easily thrown off, and is capable of thinking ahead, making quick-witted, optimal decisions on the fly; an example of this can be seen when he destroyed the cameras and released Demon Level Monsters into a basement he locked everyone in to avoid suspicion as to why his captives would've disappeared.
He's demonstrated himself to have a superiority complex when it comes to natural espers, believing they should all be eradicated. However, while arrogant and willing to test his raw power during a fight, Apollo is also a realist who knows his limits; if he feels outmatched, he'll usually resort to using a backup plan he'd set up beforehand, and isn't above using underhanded tactics in order to punch above his weight class.
Apollo has also shown himself to be a very cruel individual and demonstrates certain behaviors typical of a sociopath, such as having little to no regard for the well-being of other people and having no qualms about harming or even killing them in order to achieve his own goals.
History
Not much is known about Apollo's history, however, while fighting him, Tatsumaki admits that artificial espers have improved. This suggests that Apollo had been strengthened over time, possibly including his resistance against the poison that should have killed him instantly.

Neo Heroes Saga
Psychic Sisters Arc

Apollo arrives at the Hero Association headquarters to negotiate a trade, where staff escort him to visit Psykos in her cell. Upon hearing about his connection to Tsukuyomi, Psykos abruptly awakens and telekinetically attacks Apollo. He deflects her assault using his own psychic power and prepares to capture Psykos and leave. Shortly after, Fubuki, Saitama, and the Blizzard Group arrive, with Fubuki warning that Tatsumaki will soon come to eliminate Psykos. Just then, Tatsumaki appears, attempting to crush Psykos with debris, but Fubuki and Apollo intervene to protect her. Tatsumaki sends Apollo crashing against the wall, telling him to get lost.

Fubuki and Tatsumaki had anticipated Tsukuyomi's interest in Psykos and devised a plan to thwart it. Recovering sooner than expected, Apollo destroys the surveillance cameras to keep the situation under wraps. A fierce battle ensues, causing the ground beneath Saitama to split and sending him plummeting to the floor below. Realizing he is at a disadvantage, Apollo decides to telekinetically activate a sleeping pill that Fubuki accidentally took, warning her of another pill containing lethal poison. This action forces Tatsumaki to relent. Apollo taunts her for not predicting his move, twisting her spine and crumpling her into a ball. He then activates and breaks the access control panel, releasing a horde of Demon-level monsters from the B14 containment cage, intended to eliminate all witnesses.
Apollo's partner, a spy in the Blizzard Group, reveals himself, flying up to meet with Apollo as they all attempt to slip away with the psychic sisters and Psykos. Infuriated, multiple Blizzard Group members attack Apollo but he dispatches them easily.

Just as the released monsters are about to arrive, Saitama bursts through the horde with a single punch, annihilating all the monsters to the shock of everyone present. Meanwhile, Tatsumaki devises a counter to Apollo's strategy, extracting the poison in the form of a tiny needle. The needle shoots out, piercing both of Apollo's hands and entering his eye, as he fails to block it. Before encasing him in a large sphere of rubble, Tatsumaki expresses surprise that the poison needle did not kill him instantly, declaring her intent to extract all he knows about Tsukuyomi. Apollo's partner is also knocked out while trying to flee.
As Tatsumaki storms outside to confront Saitama, Apollo and his partner tunnel out of the basement and into the parking lot unnoticed until later. They then make a hasty escape by car. While his partner drives, Apollo uses a syringe or EpiPen to heal himself and vows to take revenge on Tatsumaki.
