Sleg

Slegs are a close relative to the Slog first seen in the game Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath.

Description

The Sleg is a close relative to the domesticated Slog that is first seen in Strangers Wrath. The Stranger first encounters these deadly animals when he enters Buzzarton. They are vicious creatures, which can pack a punch, and serve as both the Outlaw and Wolvark's vile pets. Slegs are scattered around the Mongo Valley as well. They may somehow be related to Slogs by ancestry or evolution, but are broader and taller than their fellow Slogs.

Physical Appearance/Behavior

In Stranger's Wrath two distinct variants of the Sleg can be seen. The first being the smaller "Sewer Sleg" and the second being the munch larger Wild or "Giant Purple Assed Sleg".

Sewer Sleg The Sewer Sleg is a smaller creature more similar in size to Slogs that posses Two legs, No eyes, Large toothy mouths, protruding tusks, an upper beak, and dark purple stripes and tendrils running down its lighter humped back. Sewer Slegs are typically found in industrial locals like Sewers and are often owned as pets by Wolvarks and Outlaws alike to function as gaurd-dogs. Sewer Slegs are the most common species of Sleg seen in Strangers Wrath making up a bulk of the encounters that Stranger will have with these creatures. Sewer Slegs (like their domestic Slog reletives) typically attack by simply running up to their prey, in large numbers leaping jaws first.

Giant Purple Assed Sleg The Giant Purple Sleg is far more rare then their smaller, sewer dwelling counterparts. There rarity is probably due to being hunted to near extinction by poachers, hunters, and migrating Clakker colonists. Only one Giant Purple Sleg is seen in Stranger's Wrath being one that Stranger must hunt enable to progress in the game. The giant Purple Assed Sleg is far more larger than their sewer dwelling counterparts possessing Dark purple fur, more prominent tusks, and more developed ears than their sewer dwelling cousins. The Giant Purple Sleg can be found in the Mongo Wilds, on the northern bank of the Mongo River, inhabiting a cave with a pack of several smaller Slegs. It's primary means of attack include the standard bite and a toxic spit as a ranged attack. Due to acting as a sort of mini-boss the Giant Sleg is quite powerful. Stranger must use his quick maneuverability and various live ammo critters to take down this fearsome animal.
