The Imperium Guards are the guards of the City of Imperium. They formerly served the Royal Family of Imperium.
History
Absolute Power (flashback)
Two Imperium Guards prevent Ras from entering the palace before hearing his presence is required and that they will be held responsible for his delay, which they eventually allow him to pass.
Several guards accompany Ras to arrest Zeatrix, who was accused of treason against Imperium and was banished from the kingdom.[2]
Beyond Madness
Two Imperium Guards accompanied Ras as he questioned Dr. LaRow about the status of the Photac.
Return to Imperium
The Imperium Guards were patrolling the Security Station as Lloyd, Arin, Sora, and Riyu sneaked in to get disguises. One guard then caught the three and demanded to see their ID cards. Although he bought it, the Imperium Guard realized that the three lacked shoulder pads, thus going against Beatrix's rule that all Imperians have to wear shoulder pads on weekdays. The Imperium Guard took the three to the Public Shaming Platform, but Riyu's intervention stopped him. More guards were called in as they battled Lloyd, Arin, and Riyu. Some guards later ran past a straggling Lloyd, afraid of Wyldfyre's attacks through her cell.
Mindless Beasts
The Imperium Guards chased after Arin and Riyu, trying to capture the dragon. One of them then summoned a few Imperium Drones after Arin and Riyu outran them by using a hoverboard. When Arin and Riyu hid in a garbage container, the Imperium Guards judged Arin's "title" as a doctor. One of them decided that they should search for them in the shoulder pad store, but the other guards knew it was just an excuse to get new gear.
At the Security Station, the guards caught Lloyd and Wyldfyre's feud and started attacking them, but lost.
I Will Be the Danger
Several Imperium Guards caught Lloyd and Wyldfyre freeing the dragons from their cells. Lloyd tried to avoid fighting the guards, but Wyldfyre and the dragons attacked them. During the fight, an Imperium Guard was knocked against a panel, opening the hatch as Lloyd, Wyldfyre, and the dragons escaped. One of the Imperium Guards threw his staff in frustration, but ended up hitting himself as the staff bounced back.
The Calm Inside
As Melvin guarded the Security Station, he watched the other Imperium Guards and dragons fighting through a tablet. Despite wanting to help them, he was afraid that he might get hurt by the dragons as they did with the others. Melvin then decided to enter the station for precaution. But doing so allowed Arin and Sora to sneak in and get past the other guards.
Four Imperium Guards escort Beatrix, until they came upon Percival, who was bringing in Riyu on his hoverboard.
Later, two Imperium Guards were talking about their shoulder pads until they noticed Arin. They asked him how he tripped in the first place, so Sora and Arin lied that the latter tripped because he was upset that someone was making fun of the guards' shoulder pads. Offended by the insult, the Imperium Guards left to confront the fictional bully.

Imperium Guards were patrolling outside of Ras' cell, two of which relieve the guards in front of it.
Absolute Power
Wyldfyre attracts some Imperium Guards to her location, who are disappointed, thinking it was a dragon, only to be knocked out by the other ninja, who take their hoverboards and Arin used a guard's handprint to enter the city.
Some guards manage to surround the ninja in the city, only to be knocked out by the Imperium Teen Resistance Force.
We Are All Dragons
Melvin was seen watering plants complaining that Beatrix wouldn't allow him to take a break after his pupils got dilated.
When Kai and Wyldfyre destroyed what they thought was the armory, they spot a lone Imperium Guard crying over the destroyed building, which is actually where they store shoulder pads. After Beatrix was exposed for her lies, guards were either continuing their support or oppose her as some try to gear up at the armory, only for Kai and Wyldfyre to destroy it, diverting the guards from the Advanced Systems Lab.
Later, when Jordana was in the process of draining the Source Dragon, Dr. LaRow approached Jordana mocking her before getting taken away by two guards.
The Power Within
When Beatrix begun firing MergeQuake rifts, some Imperium Guards ran for cover. After the MergeQuake Storm and Beatrix's banishment, a guard gathered alongside Rapton and the Teen Resistance Force about plans of forming a council.
Dragon Rescue!
After the Tournament of the Sources, several Imperium Guards began to work for Zeatrix, and aided her in the capturing of three of the ninja's dragons. At the Storm Farms, Zeatrix and the guards attempted to train the dragons so that Zeatrix could enact her revenge on Ras, however, after the ninja went to rescue their dragons, the Storm Farms exploded following a short circuit caused by Jiro, leaving the guards' fate unknown.

Trivia
- Despite appearing more often in the sets, the Imperium Guard Commander does not appear in the show.
- The LEGO Ninjago Dragons Rising Character Guide indicated that the standard Imperium Guard, which is exclusive to set 71796 Elemental Dragon vs. The Empress Mech, is intended to represent Melvin.
