Punch Out is a recurring boss microgame in the WarioWare series. It first appears in WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! and WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game$!, under Jimmy T's Sports folder, and later returns again as his boss microgame WarioWare Gold. The microgame's name and gameplay all reference the Punch-Out!! series.
Gameplay
The microgame takes place during a boxing match, in which the player controls a boxer, who has to defeat their opponent. When the opponent charges its attack, the player must hold left or right on the D-Pad right when the opponent is about to punch in the opposite direction. The player then needs to press 
to have their boxer counterattack with a punch. If the opponent is hit, they lose a heart of their health. The player's boxer has three hearts of health, and if he loses all of them, the player loses at the microgame.
Difficulty levels
- Level 1: The opponent is a fair skinned man who wears green clothing, including a hood with ears, gloves, shorts, and shoes. He is about as strong as the player's boxer, also having three heart points and having punches that can take away a heart from the player's boxer if he gets hit.
- Level 2: The opponent has pale skin and wears a blue mask, yellow gloves, blue shorts, and yellow shoes. He instead has four health points. When the opponent is down to a single heart point, he performs a special move that can instantly K.O. the player's character if they do not dodge it.
- Level 3: The opponent has dark skin, wears a yellow VR headset with black lens and black antennas, gray gloves, purple shorts, and gray shoes. He has five health points, and moves a lot faster than the other two two boxing opponents. The opponent has the same instant K.O. attack as the one from level 2, although he instead willingly uses it at any point during the match, but always does when down to only one heart point.
WarioWare Gold
The main gameplay is similar to the original version. However, all of the opponents were changed into different characters, and all of them have only three health points. The top screen displays the name, title, and a portrait of the opponent being fought, as well as pieces of trivia about each.
- The first opponent is "The Eye Stinger," the boxing alias of Lee Kasoop, a man who wears a leek hat.
- The second opponent is "The Musher," the boxing alias of Fun Gus, a man who wears a hat resembling a shiitake cap and sports scars on his chest and arms.
- The third opponent is "Red Typhoon", the boxing alias of Gaz Puncho, an overweight man who wears a tomato mask.
Trivia
- The third difficulty level of the WarioWare: Touched! microgame Button Masher features a boxing game reusing graphics and mechanics from the Punch Out boss microgame, and the player's character has to quickly defeat the opponent before the microgame timer expires.
- In WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!, this is one of two boss microgames to consistently play at normal speed instead of gradually speed up, the other one being Dungeon Dilemma.
- The flavor text for the WarioWare Gold are as follows:
- The Eye Stinger, Lee Kasoop: A Spring Onion themed fighter. Height 6'7" (1'8" onion.) Weight: 114 lbs. Doesn't like how easy it is to him after he throws a punch. Loves to curl up by a fire with a good book. He's got layers! This elite fighter was number two at his class at university.
- The Musher, Fun Gus: Fungi themed fighter. Very popular with senior citizens.Rumor goes that his bathwater can be used as stock in a soup. When in trouble, he relies on his uppercut to turn the tables. His current hobby? Applying stickers and scars.
- Red Typhoon, Gaz Puncho: tomato themed fighter. With his weight, the power of his uppercut is unstoppable.He is the only heir of the Nazca Tomato Family fortune. His belt was made by his biggest fan: his mom. Inexplicably swears only lycapone-diet.
