The Gaoler is the officer in charge of the jail. He was tasked with guarding Andrea del Verrocchio when he was wrongly imprisoned for the murder of Antonio Costa.
Biography
The Gaoler was guarding Andrea del Verrocchio when Leonardo da Vinci came to visit following his arrest. (Framed)
With Verrocchio sentenced to be hanged, the Gaoler was almost fooled by Lisa and Machiavelli's plan to spring Verrocchio by swapping him with a mannequin. However, when the mannequin fell, an eyeball came loose which the Gaoler saw, busting them. Later, the Gaoler refused to Leo see Verrocchio to which Leo infuriated him by calling him "porca miseria" (miserable pig). The Gaoler then threw Leo in the cell with Verrocchio. However, Leo and Verrocchio worked all night painting an exact copy of the prison wall but with broken bars so that the next morning, the Gaoler woke to find the cell appearing to be empty. He sounded the alarm and rallied the guards. They pursed Verrocchio in a epic chase before recapturing him just as he reached the city gates. (Perspective)
Personality
The Gaoler was a man of little patience and wasn't all that bright. However, as Verrocchio put it, the man was just doing his job.
