Nene (ネネ) is a supporting character in Legend of Legaia. She is the little sister of Vahn and lives in Rim Elm with her father Val.
Appearance
Nene looks a lot like Vahn. She has big blue eyes and blue hair. She wears a big, pink bow on top of her head and wears a big skirt that extends to the floor.
Personality
Nene acts very grown up for her age due to being the primary caretaker of the household. She is very prim and proper and often reprimands Vahn for being so carefree and not as polite as she would like.
Story
Early Life
Nene was born when Vahn was just a small child. Unfortunately, her birth caused major complications for her mother Nora and she died within a day after her birth.
Legend of Legaia
- "What took you so long? Mei has been waiting for you this whole time! You're always wandering around with your head in the clouds. Let's hurry up and take those measurements!"
- —Nene to Vahn
Though she looks to be no older than 6 or 7 years of age, Nene is incredibly mature for her age, helping to sustain her family by taking care of the house, especially as Val is crippled. Nene is very nurturing and even nitpicky toward her older brother, often criticizing his aloofness, though she does it out of love and concern for his well being.
Nene gives Vahn medicine during the initial Mist invasion of Rim Elm, and appears to be the cook at home. When Mei starts putting the finishing touches on the Hunter Clothes for Vahn, Nene tells her that she should be the one making clothes for her brother and asks Mei if she's in love with him. After Mei blushes bright red, Nene sees this as confirmation that her suspicions were correct.
Like the rest of the Rim Elm villagers, she is swallowed up by the Juggernaut when it assimilates with Rim Elm, but is rescued when the Vahn, Noa and Gala defeat Cort at the heart of Juggernaut.
Trivia
- When the party defeats the Bees of Rim Elm, instead of using the Honey on a character and boosting their stats, if one talks to Nene while having the Honey, she will ask for it to use in a cake. However, the party gets no real benefit out of this.
