Turkeys are a species of wildlife in Horizon Zero Dawn.
Turkeys seen in Horizon Zero Dawn appear to be female wild turkeys, a species native to the USA and Mexico, while turkeys in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered appear to be the same turkeys, but with the color of male wild turkeys and a shorter, curved beak more typical of ocellated turkeys.
History
In the Old World
Turkey zygotes were among the animals that were successfully collected before the Faro Plague eradicated the species and stored within ARTEMIS for later use in Project Zero Dawn.
In the New World
Despite not being among the animals listed by Charles Ronson as a pioneer organism,[1] turkeys were released into the wilds, becoming common in the Sacred Lands and the southern Sundom. Whether they are indeed pioneer organisms and were released under GAIA's orders or were released by ARTEMIS during its independence is unknown.
Behavior
Turkeys are docile and quick to flee upon detecting Aloy, never turning aggressive.

Turkeys are the only source of Turkey Bones and Skin.
