“ | Eternity extends time into infinity, dreams illuminate each moment within. When both shine in unison, the Sacred Sakura blooms from the darkness, finally free from the clutches of the Heavenly Principles. Now, the nightmare has dissipated, and reality is made whole. The vision we both yearn for is still further ahead. | „ |
~ Makoto explain the purpose of the Sacred Sakura. |
“ | My only regret is that I cannot witness Inazuma's future, nor can I walk this journey with you. Do you know, Ei. I am so happy right now. Because my final wish has now come true. Your polearm once protected me from countless calamities. For this, I've always felt indebted to you. Though I could never repay you in full, this Sacred Sakura will buy you some time until you are ready to awaken and embrace the new. What do you think? Did it do the trick? This time, it really is goodbye, Ei. | „ |

Biography
Makoto and her twin sister Ei are the two rulers of Inazuma peacefully. 500 years ago, a great cataclysm started and Makoto eventually dies from the monsters and Ei found her dead and mourns her death. Makoto's consciousness was imbued to the sword Musou Isshin and her twin sister Ei created her own place, the Plane of Euthymia to meditate to avoid erosion.
After Ei defeated her own puppet, Makoto's consciousness appears and Makoto gives her twin the seed of the Sacred Sakura and gives up her existence for the Sacred Sakura Tree to grow eternally and prevent dark creatures from attacking Inazuma. Trivia
- Unlike Scaramouche's attempt to change the past by erasing himself using Irminsul, only for memories of the event to change, but things staying the same, Raiden Makoto actually changed the past by planting a sacred Sakura Tree using time travel with the help of Istaroth, goddess of time.
- The power of times of Istaroth could also be a reference to the power of Finality from Houkai Gakuen 2 and Honkai Impact 3rd, where time manipulation is just one of the Finality abilities.
- Although it is not yet confirmed, some theorized that Baal reincarnated into Shirasagi Himegimi in the modern time, as hinted by her similar fighting style that Beelzebul inherits. However, this possibility may be partially impossible because Baal implanted her own consciousness into the Musou Isshin.
- Another possibility is that Baal's soul, after death, was "split" into two halves: One is the "postive side" that was sealed inside the Musou Isshin, while the other is the "negative side" that later become Shirasagi Himegimi, as shown that she only has a "few friend(s)". If this is true, Baal's positive half (after being freed from the Musou Isshin by Beelzebul with its true power) would soon "reunite" with Himegimi's negative soul, resulting the completion of her reincarnation process and become whole once again as the current Kamisato heiress. It would also mean that The Wanderer being Baal's "false reincarnation" by most fans.
- Before the release of 2.5, some fans theorized Makoto and Inazuma's actual ideology is transience and Ei changed it to eternity as a way to cope with her loss, which has been proven not entirely correct, but also not entirely wrong. Makoto accepted that nothing exists for eternity, but hopes, dreams, cultures, memories etc. can be passed down from generation to generation, adapt and change, yet still exist as they do so. Inazuma and their ideals can exist as long as their people live, preserve and adapt to change, thus in a way, achieve eternity, but it being transience eternity instead of static eternity.
