Tolle Koenig (トール・ケーニヒ?) is a character introduced in the anime Mobile Suit Gundam SEED.

History
Tolle was one of Kira Yamato’s friends who also lived on the neutral colony Heliopolis and was the boyfriend of Miriallia Haw.[1] When Heliopolis was attacked by ZAFT troops he and some other young people didn't find a shelter and thus were forced to flee on the streets where they saw the battle between the GAT-X105 Strike Gundam and a ZGMF-1017 GINN. After the GINN was destroyed, Tolle and the others inspected the Strike and were forced to the Archangel by Murrue Ramius, where it was revealed that Kira was a Coordinator. Tolle was the first one to defend Kira when soldiers pointed their weapons at him. After the Archangel left Heliopolis, Tolle and his friends decided to help the crew, with Tolle becoming the ship's co-pilot.[2][3]
During the following events, Tolle helped the Archangel crew as much as he can and also always supported Kira.[4] When the Archangel arrived in the Orb Union on Earth, Tolle and his friends met with their parents.[5] It was here that Tolle decided to become the pilot of a FX-550 Skygrasper. After the Archangel left Orb, he helped Kira battle against the Gundams stolen by ZAFT.[6] Although the first battle ended in a victory for the Archangel, the ship was attacked again and when Tolle tried to help Kira against the GAT-X303 Aegis Gundam, he was decapitated by the shield thrown by the Aegis, which also destroys his Skygrasper.[7]
Relationships
Miriallia Haw
- Miriallia and Tolle had been dating since their time together at the Orb space colony Heliopolis. The two were very close, and were very supportive of each other. When Tolle decided to stay on board the Archangel, Miriallia chose to stay on board with him. After Tolle’s death, Miriallia became heartbroken and distressed. When the captured Dearka unknowingly mocked Tolle’s death in front of her, she attempted to stab with a knife in a moment of emotional distress. After finding out that Athrun was the person that killed Tolle, Miriallia became overwhelmed with emotion, but refused to take her feelings out on him, telling Dearka that, even if she killed Athrun, it wouldn’t bring Tolle back to life.

Notes & Trivia
- In Super Robot Wars W, Tolle's death can be prevented, only if the player does certain conditions in order to unlock Nicol Amalfi, and the GAT-X207 Blitz Gundam.
- Tolle's death was changed in the Special Edition version of the series. His death was shown in close-up view, though he is still clearly decapitated.
- His death could be a nod to the demise of Ryu Jose; both deaths involved a fighter plane, albeit destroyed in different ways. Ryu kamikaze crashed his Core Fighter to defeat Crowley Hamon's Magella Top, whereas Tolle's Skygrasper was destroyed by Athrun's shield from the Aegis.
