A Sound Room, also called a Sound Test, Music Library, or Music Player, among other names, is a bonus feature found in most Fire Emblem titles that allows the player to listen to songs from the respective game's soundtrack. It is typically found in the Extras menu and may require that the player complete a prerequisite condition in order to unlock it, as well as individual songs.
Depending on the game, the full soundtrack may or may not be available, with select songs not included as listening options.
Unlock Conditions
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light
A Sound Test is accessible if the player chooses to save and quit after completing a chapter. When Anna instructs the player to turn off the console, the menu will become available if the following code is input: Up, Down, Left, Right, Up, A.
Fire Emblem Gaiden
A Sound Test is accessible from the game's title screen if the following code is input: Up, Down, Left, Right, Up.
Fire Emblem: Thracia 776
Thracia 776 is the first game in the series to feature a Sound Room that does not require the player to input a code to access. To unlock, the player must score a rank of 'A' in a playthrough. A selection of images only visible in the Sound Room are displayed in a rotation while viewing it.
Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade
The Sound Room is unlocked if the player completes a playthrough of the game with no other special requirements involved. All songs in the game are available upon unlocking regardless of the ending achieved. Like Thracia 776, the Sound Room features artwork not found elsewhere in the game.
Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade
The Sound Room is unlocked by completing Lyn's Tale, but to unlock all songs, the player must also complete Eliwood and Hector's Tales, unlock gaiden chapters, and achieve different endings. The artwork found in the Sound Room is taken from story content in the main game. Two songs are also unlocked if the player uses a Game Boy Advance link cable to connect the game with the Mario Kart: Double Dash!! bonus disc.
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones
The Sound Room is available form the game's start, and similar to The Blazing Blade, the listing of songs expands as the player plays through the game and completing certain conditions. This Sound Room does not feature any artwork.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
The Sound Room becomes available after the game is completed once on any difficulty. Certain songs are unlocked after specific conditions are met. Artwork from the story is also viewable here.
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
The Sound Room in Radiant Dawn is unlocked and functions much like its counterpart in Path of Radiance.
Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon
The Sound Room is again unlocked through completing the game on any difficulty. Songs are unlocked by hearing them during normal gameplay. Artwork displayed is pulled from story content in the main game.
Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem
The Sound Room in New Mystery of the Emblem is unlocked and functions much like its counterpart in Shadow Dragon.
Fire Emblem Awakening
Like the previous two games, the Sound Room is unlocked by game completion, with art and songs working the same way. The option to listen to music is available in the Unit Viewer.
Fire Emblem Fates
Once the player has access to the Records Hall in My Castle, the Sound Room can be accessed. Songs are unlocked as the player encounters them in normal gameplay. If headphones are connected, music can be listened to while the system is in sleep mode.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia
The Sound Room is available after completing the game. Alternatively, the player may also access it by entering the following code from the title screen: Up, Down, Left, Right, Up.
Fire Emblem Warriors
The Sound Gallery can be accessed from the Records Hall in the Extras menu.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
The Music Library can be accessed from the game's Extras Menu from the start. Music is unlocked as songs appear in normal gameplay.
Fire Emblem Engage
The Music Player is found in Alear's room on the Somniel when the player opens the Reminisce menu. Again, music is unlocked as it is encountered in game.
