Senku vs. Tsukasa (
Summary
Senku, Taiju and Yuzuriha start feeding the smoke signal to secure the attention of whoever responded to their fire, and scatter to find more wood to burn. Their smoke signal can be seen from far away. Meanwhile, Tsukasa, who has pinpointed their location from one of the signals, attacks Yuzuriha with his blade. He threatens Senku to cut her throat if he doesn't tell him the recipe for the revival. Although Senku claims not to be interested in the life of "this woman", Tsukasa sees through his attempt, and slashes off her long hair.
Despite this, Yuzuriha tries to take control of the situation; she holds Tsukasa's weapon against her neck, and encourages Senku to let her sacrifice herself, since Tsukasa can't afford to kill him as long as he doesn't know the secret to undo petrification.
Senku struggles to do his next move. Yuzuriha watches in tears as Senku gives every detail away about how the revival fluid is made. Tsukasa explains that now he has no reason to let him live, but still will allow him one last chance if he promises not to bring back civilization using science.
As this is happening, some distance away Taiju is collecting wood and is excited to see that more smoke signals have appeared in response to theirs; but then he hears the unmistakable sound of Yuzuriha crying for his help, and he storms back to his friends.

Chapter Notes
- Tsukasa catches up to Senku and friends and threatens them.
- Yuzuriha thinks sacrificing herself would be the best choice for the future of humanity, but Senku refuses to let it happen.
- Tsukasa elaborates that Senku's weakness is that he has people he cares deeply about while he hasn't. He still offers him a last chance to live though.
- Tsukasa learns the revival fluid formula.

- Kohaku's silhouette is shown in this chapter but she isn't formally introduced and named yet.
- Though it is not evident in the translation, even in the japanese original Kohaku counts up to three in english; this is brought up by an extra page of volume 5 later on.
