Nakawa is a character from the Disney's Animal Kingdom attraction, Festival of the Lion King.
Background
Nakawa is one of the four emcees who is part of a traveling theater troupe along with the other emcees, Zawadi, Kibibi, and Kiume. In spite of being one of the four emcees, he would occasionally take part in singing during the show. He and the other emcees became affiliated with Simba throughout the show called "Festival of the Lion King". Development
The Festival of the Lion King attraction opened at the former Camp Minnie-Mickey area in 1998 featuring Nakawa and the other performers. Over the years, the show became successful for many years before Camp Mickey-Minnie closed down in 2014 to make way for Pandora: The World of Avatar, which later opened in 2017, resulting the show to be moved to Harambe Theater in Africa, still featuring Nakawa and the other emcees performing within the facility.

Nakawa is one of the four emcees who hosts the show, often leading the audience in the lion section, next to Simba who is indeed a lion. He is the one who usually sings the parts which Simba usually sings such as "Can You Feel the Love Tonight".
