Inaki is a character in the 2024 Disney photorealistic CGI film Mufasa: The Lion King. He is a male yellow baboon who lives in the Baboons' Tree. He is an elder and the co-leader of Rafiki's former troop.
Background
Personality
Like the other elders of his troop, Inaki is distrustful and suspicious of Rafiki's visions.
Physical appearance
Inaki is a fairly large baboon with long-furred cheeks. His fur is brown, tan, and white, while his eyes are yellow.
Role in the film
One night, the elders of Rafiki's troop, including Inaki, declared that a cheetah had climbed into their tree for the third night in a row, this time nearly making off with one of their own. He then placed the blame on Rafiki for having summoned it with his visions. At that moment, Junia leaped to Rafiki's defense and reminded him of all the times his visions had come in handy, such as the time Rafiki had healed him. Despite her protests, the elders called for a vote, and the troop unanimously voted to exile Rafiki.
Trivia
- Unlike other character names in The Lion King franchise, Inaki is not of Swahili origin, but Basque (Spanish/French), and roughly translates to "fire."[1]
