Edna Danvers

Edna Danvers is Supergirl's adoptive mother. Upon their son's loss, Edna and her husband Fred adopted an orphaned kid called Linda Lee, not knowing her real identity was Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El. Eventually Edna and her husband would be among the few people whom both Kryptonian heroes entrusted with their secret identities. In other universes, Supergirl's foster mother was named Sylvia or Eliza.

Edna Danvers was created by Jerry Siegel and Jim Mooney, making her first appearance in Action Comics #279 (1961).
