Insect Queen is a name used by several characters in the DC Universe. The first Insect Queen was Lana Lang, a friend of Superboy and honorary member of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Her powers come from a ring that gives her the physical abilities of various insects and arachnids.
The Insect Queen from the 30th Century is Lonna Leing of Xanthu, a member of the Uncanny Amazers existing in Reboot Legion continuity. In the Modern Age, an extra-terrestrial super-villain similar to Queen Bee has also used the name Insect Queen. She was raised among the All-Hive, a race of insectoid aliens who sent her and her followers to Earth to start a new colony, eventually becoming a villain to Superman and Supergirl.
The Insect Queen identity was created by Otto Binder and George Papp, first appearing in Superboy #124 (1965). The Modern Age Insect Queen was created by Kurt Busiek and Peter Vale, first appearing in Superman #671 (2008).
