The Dragon is a playable mascot in Crossy Road, added in the Christmas Update 2014. The Dragon is currently located with the other China mascots.
Appearance
This mascot is based on the stereotypical representation of a mythical monster called the Dragon. The Dragon’s look is based on the dragons in Chinese legends. The Dragon's back appears a light shade of red, along with the limbs. Its feet and hands are a darker shade of red, and its belly appears a light orange. The wings on its back are the same color as its hands and feet. It has white horns protruding from the back of its head, and its mouth is slightly open, showing its tongue.
Characteristics
Similar to most of the standard mascots, the grasslands serve as the terrain for the Dragon. Trees and boulders appear as obstacles and the only enemy being the Eagle, who will pick the player up if they idle for too long. The Dragon occasionally breaths fire, which can burn trees and vehicles. These obstacles will, however, remain solid and will not allow the player to pass through them. On the other hand, a Train will not be able to be burnt from the Dragon's fiery breath.
How to Obtain
You can unlock the Dragon with the Prize Machine for 100 Coins, or you can purchase it for $0.99.
Trivia
- If you wait for 1 minute before starting the game and tap when the Dragon breathes fire, it will breath infinitely until you die. This might not work every try.
- If the Dragon breathes fire on a Gas Truck or Rocket Truck, they will still not explode.
- A car, truck or tree will go black if the Dragon breathes fire on it. Trains and rocks will not.
- In Chinese culture, dragons symbolise potent and auspicious powers, and bring strength and good luck for worthy people. Excellent and outstanding people are compared to a dragon and there is a Chinese saying, "Hoping one's son will become a dragon".
- The Crossy Road developers have mixed their dragon traits. While the mascot is a Chinese dragon and is located with the China mascots, Chinese dragons are not aggressive and do not breath fire like the dragons in European cultures.
