Lament Woods is a location from Breath of Fire. It is known as the Forest of Despair in the SNES version of the game.
Story
Lament Woods is a forest located northwest of Tantar and Tuntar. It is haunted, causing even members of the Forest Clan to steer clear, and houses a Dark Dragon Clan fort. Before Ryu and Nina arrive in the Tantar area. A group from Tantar drive the Dark Dragon army into Lament Woods. However one of their number, Terry, is struck by an arrow and the group is forced to retreat.
After hearing rumors about the chief of Tuntar's strange behavior and frequent trips to Lament Woods, Ryu and Nina decide to investigate. They use their Saw to clear a path, allowing them to explore the woods. They soon find a strange fort and search inside.
