Arad is a location th in the original Breath of Fire. It is a small, solitary community located in the Arad Desert and is inhabited by the Sand Clan. Arad is unique in that, unlike almost every other town in the game, it possesses no shops.
Story
Arad has no real structures other than the walls surrounding it. The inhabitants where a robe cover everything but their faces which to be not very visible except their eyes. Arad has had no problems with the Dark Dragons due to the fact that it is in the middle of the desert. Every new moon a SandWorm comes to eat their goats. Unable to enter Krypt, Ryu and his party enter the nearby town of Arad to ask for advice. They meet Arad's mayor who tells them that the only way to enter Krypt is with the Fife. Arad's mayor offers the Fife to the party if they defeat the Sand Worm that eats Arad's livestock every full moon. Ryu's party agrees, defeat the Sand Worm and receive the Fife.
