SandWorm is a boss enemy that appears in Breath of Fire. It appeares as a large purple and pink segmented worm.
Story
The SandWorm appears every new moon and eats the people of Arad's goats. The party encounters it in the back of Arad when they talk to the mayor and agree to destroy it. In return, the mayor rewards the player with the Fife which gives them access to Krypt.
Strategy
Have Ryu turn into a Thunder Dragon, Nina healing/buffing and Bo attacking normally. While the Sandworm has no noticeable weakness, it is resistant to fire.

Etymology
The creature's name and appearance might be inspired by a mythical creature known as the Mongolian Death Worm that is said to terrorize the Gobi Desert.
