~ In-game description |
Goliath Doomship is the Paragon for the Monkey Ace released in Version 33.0. The Goliath Doomship was first reported officially on the June 3rd 2022 blog, mentioning Ninja Kiwi's next planned Paragons, alongside the then-unnamed Engineer Monkey Paragon (Master Builder) and Wizard Monkey Paragon (Magus Perfectus). In the Version 32.0 patch notes, it was confirmed to be scheduled for release in Version 33.0. The first appearance and official name were both revealed in Ninja Kiwi's Twitter post.
Combining major features from the Sky Shredder, Tsar Bomba, and Flying Fortress, Goliath Doomship shoots 12 non-homing missile volleys alongside 8 homing missiles that moderately home at MOAB-class bloons. Unlike other Monkey Aces, it also unlocks a rapid stream of two darts similar to the Aircraft Carrier's miniplanes when the Goliath Doomship faces a bloon. It comes with an ability that summons three mini-doomships that carpet bomb the screen through a fixed, adjustable path, dealing enormous localized explosive damage and stunning all bloon types excluding BADs and Bosses.
The Goliath Doomship is obtained by having one of each tier 5 Monkey Ace and purchasing the Paragon upgrade, which subsequently consumes all Monkey Ace on screen. The Degree of the Goliath Doomship ranges from 1-100 and is determined by total cost, pop count, upgrades, and number of Monkey Aces sacrificed as explained here. As of 41.0, The Goliath Doomship can only receive buffs from Navarch of the Seas, Nautic Siege Core, and the "Paragon of Power" Monkey Knowledge. However, bloon debuffing status effects of Cripple MOAB, Glue Storm, and Super Brittle can still make it deal increased damage. Additionally, the Goliath Doomship is unobtainable in Sandbox Mode until it has been created in a real game, but can be created in Challenge Editor.
Upgrading to this Paragon costs $765,000 on Easy, $900,000 on Medium, $972,000 on Hard, and $1,080,000 on Impoppable. To max out on manual cash sacrifices starting from v39.0, the player must spend at least $2,295,000 on Easy, $2,700,000 on Medium, $2,916,000 on Hard, and $3,240,000 on Impoppable; before v39.0, the max cash sacrifices was $250,000. With max slider, these costs increase to $2,409,750 on Easy, $2,835,000 on Medium, $3,061,800 on Hard, and $3,402,000 on Impoppable.
Description
Overview

Goliath Doomship is a big, dark red plane with black detailing. Just like the Flying Fortress it has the tail designed after the Russian Kalinin K-7 aircraft. It has two similar cockpits next to each other, both of them have a big yellow light shining forwards. It flies twice as slow as a normal Monkey Ace. The higher the paragon level, the more big yellow windows it gets. It has two small rotors next to both cockpits, and four on the tail. The front and the back are connected with two much larger rotors. On the middle of the tail is a white logo that resembles a balloon with two eyes and a crack in the middle. The much smaller bomber planes have the same colour design, but look more like the middle path Ace in shape.
The main Goliath Doomship shoots combinations of missiles and darts at bloons. Instead of dart volleys, it shoots 16 yellow missiles in each volley, the projectiles each leaving behind purple trails that darken over distance and time. Both its main missile volleys and anti-MOAB homing missiles take inspiration from the Operation: Dart Storm combined with Dartling Gunner's Hydra Rocket Pods upgrade. The anti-MOAB homing missiles are colored yellow and leave behind blue-to-yellow trails instead, more specifically from pastel blue, cyan, and lime green as the final color. Like the anti-MOAB homing missiles from other top path Monkey Aces, the Goliath Doomship's anti-MOAB missiles automatically home at MOAB-class bloons, except home aggressively at bloons. Its rapidly firing twin darts are the incarnation of the Spectre and Flying Fortress, taking inspiration from their rapid fire streams. While the Goliath Doomship itself lacks any incorporation of middle path, its ability represents middle path.
Goliath Doomship gains the Carpet Bomb ability, which summons a trio of mini-doomships that carpet bomb across a custom linear path of which the start and end points can be designated. Upon activation of the ability, the screeching of aircraft is audible, which after several seconds summons the three mini-doomships to drop eight yellow bombs. Each bomb explodes one by one in quick succession, producing very large explosions across the path of the mini-doomships. These yellow bombs have black ends and their bodies are wider in width than height. The mini-doomships vaguely resemble miniature Ground Zero planes with the color scheme of the main Goliath Doomship, except that they produce purple trails as they fly across the screen.
Every 20 degrees, the Goliath Doomship gains a more erratic appearance, some dark coloring at the end of the wind, a larger light on both it's cockpits and the wings, side fins on the front wing, more fins and purple jet engines.

In the upgrade portrait, the Goliath Doomship quickly flies with its trio of mini-doomships, escaping from what appears to be a large explosion.
Activated Abilities
Goliath Doomship gains the Carpet Bomb Ability, which deploys a trio of mini-doomships that drop a series of 8 explosives along a fixed, adjustable path, dealing enormous localized explosive damage and stunning all bloon types excluding BADs. The linear path that the mini-doomships travel along can be adjusted with the Set Linear Path targeting option, altering the density and direction of the bomb salvos. This activated ability has a cooldown of 60 seconds and has a full initial cooldown, minus the transformation animation after purchasing the Goliath Doomship.
Targeting Priorities
The Goliath Doomship uses the same flight targeting as all Monkey Aces with the Centered Path upgrade. Unlike all other Monkey Aces, Centered Path is always its default flight targeting. In addition, its ability bombs target in a straight path, defaulting along the primary diagonal, which can be adjusted with the Set Linear Path targeting button.
- Circle: Flight pattern becomes a circular path around the runway.
- Figure Infinite: Flight pattern becomes the shape of the infinite symbol (∞). As the Monkey Ace flies, it will pass its runway during its flight, specifically at each half of the whole flight path.
- Figure Eight: Flight pattern becomes the shape of the number 8. As the Monkey Ace flies, it will pass its runway during its flight, specifically at each half of the whole flight path.
- Centered Path: Flight path becomes a large circular path, centered around the center of the map by default. The center of the flight path can be changed manually. Can be accessed by purchasing the Centered Path upgrade, and once upgraded the Ace defaults to this target priority.
- Wingmonkey: Instead of a fixed flight path, the Monkey Ace will attempt to fly as close to the path as possible, similarly to an Aircraft Carrier Plane. Available only via the Wingmonkey MK.
- Reverse Flight: Shown by an icon of a reverse aircraft, the Ace will reverse direction of flight. Unlike other target priorities such as Change Hands, there is a cooldown of 5 seconds before being able to reverse flight direction again. It can be coupled with all flight options except Wingmonkey.
- Set Linear Path: Sets a linear path for the mini-doomships to carpet bomb. Default path is along the primary diagonal. A valid path must be at least 100 units long.
The Goliath Doomship's frontal gun attack is locked on Close.

Creating the Goliath Doomship
A Goliath Doomship can be created by having one of each Tier 5 Monkey Ace on screen, at which point, the upgrade icon for the Goliath Doomship will become available on any of the tier 5 monkey aces. Purchasing the upgrade will change the selected Monkey Ace into the Goliath Doomship while sacrificing every other Monkey Ace on screen (including those belonging to co-op players). Only one Goliath Doomship may exist at a time, even in co-op.
Degree Requirements and Attack Statistics

- Vanilla Goliath Doomship + 19x 0-3-2 (degree 20 with tier 3s): Uses vanilla costs plus enough power from tier 3s for degree 20. Uses the cheapest tier 3 upgrade, the 0-3-2 Bomber Ace.
- Vanilla Goliath Doomship + 13x 4-2-0 (degree 20 with tier 4s): Uses vanilla costs plus enough power from tier 4s for degree 20. Uses the cheapest tier 4 upgrade, the 4-2-0 Operation: Dart Storm. An extra O:DS is needed on easy. Middle ground on saving expenses and space.
- Vanilla Goliath Doomship + 7x 0-2-4 + 10x 4-2-0 (100 upgrade tiers + over $250k on Medium): Uses vanilla costs plus coverage of the $250k worth of sacrifices. Uses a mix of the most expensive Ace path, the 0-2-4 Spectre, with enough 4-2-0 O:DSes for the remaining tiers. On Easy, it is instead recommended to use 9 0-2-4 Spectres and 8 4-2-0 ODSes.
Arbitrary definitions for convenience in this table:
- Vanilla: Only a single 5-0-0, 0-5-0, and 0-0-5.
Cost Formula
Lists all three unique Tier 5 upgrades without crosspathing, as well as all possible Tier 4 upgrades without crosspathing, and all T1-T2 upgrades collected together for each path. Use the table below to start evaluating into the equation further down. The costs for each entity are listed with their prices on all four game modes (Easy, Medium, Hard, Impoppable), along with a rate of max sacrifices on Medium as "$250k/Cost (Medium)" for whole T4 towers only. T5's only contribute to the power requirements for the T5 towers regardless of how many T5 towers are on screen.
Whole T5 Purchase | Easy | Medium | Hard | Impoppable |
---|---|---|---|---|
5-0-0 Total | $40465 | $47600 | $51405 | $57120 |

0-2-0 T1+T2 | $465 | $550 | $TBA | $TBA |
0-0-2 T1+T2 | $680 | $800 | $TBA | $TBA |
Where T(x,y,z) and C(x, y, z) are functions with three parameters corresponding to tier numbers, S1 and similar are the number of Tier 4 upgrades of each path, and L1 and similar are the sums of Tier 2 crosspaths from each of the Tier 4 upgrades:
T(5,0,0) + T(0,5,0) + T(0,0,5) + S1 * T(4,0,0) + S2 * T(0,4,0) + S3 * T(0,0,4) + L1 * C(2,0,0) + L2 * C(0,2,0) + L3 * C(0,0,2)
Substitute each of these functions with the respective tower costs (e.g. Flying Fortress → T(0,0,5) → $112,800 if Medium prices are used).
Cash Sacrifices
- Cash : Power: Ratio of cash required to gain 1 power. Maximum power gained from cash sacrifices is 60,000 power.
- Max Manual Sacrifices: Maximum amount of cash required to max out power via cash sacrifices by only using placed towers, irrespective of non-impossibility in practice.
- Max Slider Sacrifices: Maximum amount of cash required to max out power via cash sacrifices by only using the cash slider.

Summary
The Goliath Doomship is a dominating Paragon against bosses, being the most popular option for later tiers. Despite the high price tag, it is often worth getting, as it can usually handle most Tier 5 Elite Bosses by itself. It is a straightforward DPS-oriented Paragon whose main damage comes from its carpet bomb ability, which also stuns all bloons below a BAD. This ability can be manually targeted onto a specific segment of the track, although it requires a path at least 100 units, preventing players from concentrating all 8 bombs in the same spot. Outside of the ability, a large source of its damage comes from its rapid fire dual streams of darts which only fire when the Goliath Doomship is facing a bloon. In addition to the dart stream, the Goliath Doomship shoots out an occasional volley of 16 purple piercing missiles and 4 green homing missiles. As such, positioning and micro is key for the Goliath Doomship.
Tips
- To get a cheap degree 20 Goliath Doomship, the player can buy 19 0-3-2 Bomber Aces, which will be enough to get a degree 21 Goliath Doomship (degree 20 on Easy).
- Alternatively if space is tight, 14 4-2-0 Operation: Dart Storms will get a Degree 20 on medium but will cost $28,500 more than 0-3-2 spam. Build 1 more O:DS to get Degree 20 on Easy.
- 2-0-4 Spectre is the most expensive non-Tier 5 Ace able to be sacrificed.
- The best tower sacrifices for maximum degree are 10x 4-0-2 Operation Dartstorms and 7x 2-0-4 Spectres on Normal Difficulty. On Hard 11x 4-0-2 and 6x 2-0-4, on Impoppable 12x 4-0-2 and 5x 2-0-4, on Easy 8x 4-0-2 and 9x 2-0-4. This will get you the required non tier 5 upgrades while exceeding the $250k cash sacrifice by no more than $10k.
- Flying Fortress can easily and quickly rack up pops by itself thanks to its high DPS. For Boss Bloon Events, a Flying Fortress combined with camo detection can solo up to round 100, and can solo up to round 120 when combined with Permanent Brew. This is a very common method to both anti-stall rounds and build up pops while taking up little space and requiring almost no micro.
- For Ranked Boss Bloon Events, the Goliath Doomship can be used in a similar fashion as Master Builder, where the ability provides enough burst damage to kill or severely weaken the boss quickly. It can even be combined with the Master Builder to break through multiple skulls in record time, notably for normal Bloonarius, Vortex, and Dreadbloon, but also nearly bursts an entire tier 5 Elite Lych skull with degree 60 or above.
- Prepare a high degree Ace Paragon one or two rounds before the tier 5 boss arrives to prepare the ability prematurely. Activating the ability as soon as the boss round begins, or slightly delayed, will make the bombs deal damage when the boss spawn animation ends.
- Because Lych has a cooldown on leaving ethereal form of about 7.5 seconds regardless of how fast the Lych Soul is killed, and because the bombs begin dealing damage at around 4 seconds after first activating the carpet bomb, wait 3.5-4 seconds after triggering a skull before activating the ability to get the damage out as soon as possible for ranked bosses.
- Carpet Bombs will also ignore Vortex's air shield that generates at every skull, allowing the Doomship to get in serious damage regardless of whether the wind shield is active. It's worth noting that thanks to the multiple hits of Carpet Bomb, it is able to effectively bypass Vortex's skulls should Vortex get hit while its shield is up.
- Maximizing the amount of time that the Goliath Doomship directly faces the boss will maximize its DPS, thanks to the forward firing darts. Using the adjustable Centered Path flight path and changing directions once the Doomship goes past the boss can often be a better way to do this over Wingmonkey.
- For Freeplay, it is worth losing the Paragon of Power buff for the ability to use Flying Fortress, which will offer more damage when buffed than the extra attack speed of the monkey knowledge.
- Navarch of the Seas's buff will not affect Goliath Doomship's Carpet Bomb, reducing the synergetic potential of buying a Navarch to buff the Doomship.
- To get the $2,700,000 on Medium valuation of manual sacrifices for Goliath Doomship, one must spend approximately 92.78 worth of 2-0-4 Spectres. Getting this many Aces is almost surely impossible, and even then it requires occupying excessive amounts of the entire available land. For efficient cost sacrifices, place as many as humanly possible and spend the rest on the cash slider.
Monkey Ace Paragon was first reported officially on the June 3rd 2022 blog, mentioning Ninja Kiwi's next planned Paragons, alongside the then-named Engineer Monkey Paragon (Master Builder) and Wizard Monkey Paragon (Magus Perfectus).

The second appearance came on this Twitter NK post, released on September 30th 2022 at 2:40pm NZST. The first appearance and official name were both revealed in the aforementioned post. It features a 3-second clip of the Goliath Doomship flying in a sky full of grey and black cumulus clouds, rain, and lightning.
Once again, it is confirmed to arrive in Version 33.0 following Ninja Kiwi's release of the Version 33.0 preview notes. On that same post, they have released an official upgrade portrait for the Goliath Doomship.
The Version 33.0 preview video posted on Ninja Kiwi's YouTube channel was released one day since the release of the Version 33.0 preview notes. Information about some of the Goliath Doomship's features have been released. Features that are clear in this video include:
- Goliath Doomship shoots 16 non-homing missile volleys alongside singular homing missiles that aggressively home at MOAB-class bloons.
- Goliath Doomship comes with an ability that summons three mini-doomships that carpet bomb the screen throughout the primary diagonal (which ends up in the debut update as simply the default flight path for the mini-doomships), dealing enormous localized explosive damage and stunning bloons and blimps. There was no confirmation about stunning BADs at the time, as this was never showcased.
Goliath Doomship was released on the very next day after the release of the Version 33.0 preview video and Version 33.0 preview notes.

Version History
Balance Changes
Goliath Doomship sees popularity in Boss Events as the main choice of final Paragon to beat Tier 5 Bosses. Although the strongest Paragon in terms of raw damage to Bosses, it has received a buff to its carpet bomb pierce to add consistency to the incorporation of middle path as well as make it better in hyperdense bloon scenarios. Version 35.0 nerfed the price of Goliath Doomship to pave way to synergization potential with Navarch of the Seas. Version 39.0 only slightly increased the cooldown of the carpet bomb ability to prevent the paragon from falling lower in power.
Version 44.0 saw the paragon receive similar changes as Nautic Siege Core in the same update with the cooldown of Carpet bomb increased even further along with raising the damage of the ability at the cost of the total Boss damage being nerfed.

“ | [...] Users have noticed that Goliath Doomship's ability overall has far less pierce than the T4 ability, while this rarely matters at all the pierce value downgrading by that much was not an intended reduction, so we are bumping up each of those ability bombs to bring the total pierce up. | ” |

Goliath Doomship ability's Carpet Bomb pierce increased 50 → 150
- 35.0
“ | While we wanted to initially ensure general farming achievability of the (still very high) price compared to how good we actually felt the Doomship was due to the target goal of giving it an intentional ability niche and the jump it would be as most expensive paragon, but after seeing the results of its power we're happy to take this up now. | ” |

Goliath Doomship price increased $800,000 → $900,000
Goliath Doomship can receive increased attack speed if Navarch of the Seas is on screen

“ | Limiting many changes to Ace for now, we feel that it wasn’t nerfed that badly from the bug fix and we also currently want it to stay one of the much higher level price tags. It has been performing incredibly well even as the most expensive paragon, however given it is very cooldown dependent and scaling that cooldown via degrees is going to be much harder now we want to wait and see the impact of the rest of that rework before anything more significant to it. | ” |

Trivia
- The first mention of the Monkey Ace Paragon on Ninja Kiwi's 3rd June 2022 blog was actually part of an answer regarding the release of Druid Paragon.
- The 10th June 2022 blog pokes fun at the Flying Fortress' description of "This is a BIG plane.", referring to the potential size of the Ace paragon and the already massive size of Flying Fortress.
- Goliath Doomship is the first Paragon that does not show a visible monkey.
- The Goliath Doomship flies slower than the other Monkey Aces without Fighter Plane upgrade. This is evident by the Goliath Doomship and a 0-0-2 Monkey Ace having Centered Path targeting option selected and the Monkey Ace is able to catch up with the Goliath Doomship.
- The Apex Plasma Master and the Goliath Doomship are currently the only Paragons that lacks green in their color schemes.
- The Goliath Doomship is currently the most expensive tower in the game, surpassing the Master Builder, who previously held that record.
- It is the second Military Monkey Paragon, the first being Navarch of the Seas. It is also the second Paragon to be the second-released of their category, that being the Military Monkeys category.
- The incorporation of shooting darts only when facing bloons is likely inspired by the Tier 3 Ace Private Hangar in BTD5, which grants all Aces an additional fast-firing forward gunning attack.
- With its price increase in Version 35.0, Goliath Doomship is the first upgrade that can have a price over $1,000,000.
- As of Version 35.0, the Goliath Doomship is the first Paragon that can receive an external buff, being Navarch of the Seas' Carrier Flagship buff.
- Goliath Doomship is the second paragon to have an animated teaser.
- According to Ninja Kiwi's 8th December 2023 blog, Ninja Kiwi suggests that the "Goliath" in "Goliath Doomship" refers to "big and powerful".
- As of 41.0, Goliath Doomship is the only paragon that can receive 3 external buffs.
- Version 44.0 makes Goliath Doomship to lack bonus damage to bosses from any of its damage sources via Carpet Bomb, along side Nautic Siege Core with Final Strike
