Etienne is a Hero who first appears in the Bloons TD 6 Generation, starting with Bloons TD 6. He is the eleventh character to be released for that game generation. He has since subsequently appeared in later games. He is the seventh new hero to be added since the public release of Bloons TD 6.

History
In Bloons TD 6

Etienne makes his first appearance in the game Bloons TD 6. He is the seventh new hero added to the game, in Version 20.0.
Etienne is a drone operator who is capable of granting Camo detection to all non-Paragon towers once he levels enough. He operates local-ranged drones at all of his tiers, and also a UAV that becomes a devastating UCAV when activated.
In Bloons TD Battles 2

Etienne made several cameos before officially releasing in Version 4.0. His hat appeared in a Smudge Catt costume season pack. ETn appears in a spaceship in one of the Clan decorations.
Etienne returns in Bloons TD Battles 2, this time starting with two drones by default and having both First and Divide and Conquer targeting options unlocked by default. His higher levels also grant chance to damage any bloon type, eventually guaranteed chance. His global camo detection level is also unlocked earlier.

Description
Etienne is a French drone operator who is fluent at both English and French. He wears a pilot hat, eye goggles, a blue striped scarf, an orange long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and holds a remote control. He usually sits down, although in Bloons TD Battles 2 he stands up instead.
Etienne is fairly calm most of the time, but he can get somewhat frustrated.
In terms of friends, Etienne does not limit himself. Beetienne, his bee hero alt, spends time with the bear Beekeeper having fun with sharing honey.

As of present, Etienne has a total of five Hero Skins. Two of them appear in Bloons TD 6, and one in Bloons TD Battles 2.

ETn is Etienne's second skin, first released to Bloons TD 6 on Version 25.0, and the 16th Hero skin to be ever released. He is an alien, with many references to popular media including ET, Futurama, and more. ETn was not teased before release.

Book Wyrm

Book Wyrm made his first appearance in Bloons TD 6 in Version 32.0. He is the third Hero Skin for Etienne in the game, and the 25th Hero skin to be ever released. He is a bookworm who enjoys the fantasy genre, especially dragons.

Beetienne

Beetienne is exclusive to Bloons TD Battles 2, introduced on Version 4.4. He is the first Hero Skin for Etienne in that game.
Beetienne has a targeting priority unlocked at Level 2, Making Honey, which stops him from attacking to instead generate lives every few seconds. His bees attack differently to ordinary mechanical drones; they attack directly with stingers rather than shooting darts. At higher levels, his bees can pursuit the range of other friendly towers on screen, just like Advanced Intel.
His abilities operate differently to normal Etienne. His Defend the Hive! ability summons more bees and auto-switches out of Making Honey. His Auxiliary Hives ability costs lives to place more bees.
Beetienne wears a fursuit of a bee. His tail initially has a dart at the end as a stinger, but as he levels up he becomes more and more like a real monkey bee.

- Etienne is the first hero in the BTD6 Generation to be multilingual.
- Etienne is the first hero in the BTD6 Generation to not accept Alchemist buffs at all.

- According to Ninja Kiwi's 31th March 2023 blog, Etienne's drones are named Un, Deux, Trois, and Baguette.
- According to Ninja Kiwi's 20th October 2023 blog, Etienne's dragons are each named Snaps, Tear-y, Chomp, and Guivre.
- According to Ninja Kiwi’s 3rd December 2021 blog, Etienne’s cat is actually named Crepe, despite them usually being referred to as Pancake.

Cultural references
- Étienne is a French name (equivalent to the English-language Stephen/Steven), and therefore it is pronounced "IT-yen." Etienne is likely French as he uses French words in his quotes and speaks with a French accent.
- At level 10 and higher, Etienne also wears France's flag as a circular pin on his hat.
- UAV is the abbreviation for unmanned aerial vehicle (AKA Drones), and UCAV stands for Unmonkeyed Combat Aerial Vehicle, a reference to Unmanned combat aerial vehicle.
- "UCM" stands for "Unmonkeyed Combat Mothership"
- Etienne's UCAV design appears to be based on the MQ-9 Reaper, a famous American UCAV used for both surveillance and precision airstrikes.
- ETn's UCAV design bears a resemblance to the Planet Express Ship from the Futurama series.
- ETn's very annoyed quote "Exterminate! Exterminate!" is a reference to the Daleks from the Doctor Who series.
- The word "apoplectic" (which Book Wyrm Etienne asks the player if they know) can mean either "relating to a stroke" or "extremely annoyed".
