Debuff (also known as cripple) is a status effect introduced in Bloons Monkey City characterized by causing the affected bloon(s) to be dealt extra damage from all direct damage sources for a limited time. It is first introduced with the Boss Weaken ability, which when used will cause the Boss Bloon to be dealt twice the damage from all sources.
Debuff is represented on the Bloons Wiki with , which depicts the upgrade icon for Cripple MOAB in Bloons TD 6, which looks like a disabled BFB motor. Visual debuffs are difficult to observe, and it depends on observing the towers affecting the bloons with a form of Debuff, whether it be seeing observing bloons disintegrate faster from other towers or by observing cripple-inflictors making attacks at bloons. Multiple different sources of Debuff can stack with each other but not those from the same type of underlying source.
There are several examples of Debuff in Bloons TD 6, including:
- BTD6 Cripple MOAB
- Embrittlement and Super Brittle (also comes with the Brittle
status effect)
- Glue Strike and Glue Storm
Several Bloons Adventure Time TD items use this too. The Gentle Lasers, Sai's Marked For Death, and Googoomamameter all have this property. Soul-sucking towers like Hunson Abadeer also inflict Debuff; however unlike all other Debuff sources, soul loss is permanent.
All towers require an upgrade to allow application of the Debuff status effect.

Summary
Use of the Debuff status effect, most of which tend to be additive damage, appears to be the most beneficial for fast-attacking multi-projectile attacks. This also includes attacks with Multiple Targeting and/or Spray
. In fact, Sub-Towers and Paragons welcome the addition of Debuff status effects on bloons order to maximize damage on bloons, given their limited or non-existent potential for accepting Tower Buffs
. Damage amplifiers are especially effective against Boss Bloons. Any Damage-over-time as well as suitable for this effect, it may has much better handling.
