The Hasdrubal was a rapid-response combat ship in service with the United States Colonial Marine Corps. It carried a crew of 33.[1]
History
In the early 2220's, the Hasdrubal headed to Tartarus (LV-797), to secure it for scheduled Terraforming under Weyland-Yutani, from rival companies from asset-striping it. The Hasdrubal was also assigned to also prosecute any illegal prospectors.
Two dropships then headed to the planet, after landing, the marines discovered a Seegson excavation site with survivor Laurence Goode and a Engineer Juggernaut. After they were ambush twice by the Yautja Tartarus Clan and finding survivors Melville and Humble, Lorimer encouraged Captain Paget to seize the Juggernaut, reminding her of her "legally mandated responsibility" under the company.
After losing a dropship to a Yautja, with another team that was ambushed, the marines killed the Yautja and secured the vessel. The marines Synthetic Singer managed to get the ship operational and planned to send it to the nearest USCM facility, Ganymede station.
Captain Paget then made a report to Weyland-Yutani about the mission on Tartarus, while the Juggernaut was brought into orbit. Despite the Hasdrubal being close, they were unable to communicate with the marine squad aboard. A Engineer then woke up and took control of the ship. The vessel then headed to LV-223, while the Hasdrubal followed.
When the Juggernaut arrived at LV-223, everyone got off for safety. After the Engineer left the ship, Singer, Humbel and Geryon survivor Angela Foster, then attempted to seize the ship for the marines and Geryon survivors. Only for the Engineer to return and depart, with the three of them onboard.
Arriving days later, the Hasdrubal rescued the survivors, along with Jill, a survivor from the Geryon. The marines then regrouped aboard the Hasdrubal and (after Chris Hanlock contacted them) volunteered to return to LV-223 to rescue Chris and Rucker.
The marines returned to LV-223, however, Rocker died when a Chestburster hatched from him. The marines were then ambushed by Xenomorphs, while their dropship was destroyed by a Engineer. The marines then contacted the Hasdrubal for evac, unfortunately, the Tartarus Clan from Tartarus, boarded the Hasdrubal and killed Delaria, along with four marines, Lorimer and Laurence Goode.
After surviving a army of Xenomorphs, with the help of the Tartarus Clan, the marines managed to auto-pilot a freight bus from the Hasdrubal to pick them up. While waiting for the freight bus, the survivors were able to kill the Engineer.
After they were rescued, Captain Paget then sent a massage to Ganymede station, about the mission.

Behind the scenes
The name of the Hasdrubal may be a reference to Hasdrubal Barca, an ancient Carthaginian general known for his efforts in the Second Punic War.
